    Arkansas (The South) Spring/Summer 2013

Samantha, Best of Luck in your preparations and in your Journey. I relive at least a part of my Camino every day. It and the people I met are never far from my thoughts. I'm hopeful I can do the 500 hundred miles again in either 2015 or 2016. (with better shoes and fewer blisters, hopefully.)...

Joe & Laurie, Congrats on the ticket purchase...THAT SEALS THE DEAL!!. I live just outside Little Rock. I hiked from SJPP to Santiago May 16 thru July 3rd 2013. Had some bunion/blister issues which slowed me down. It was a wonderful journey. Met many terrific people from around the world. Also...

    Why we walk the Camino

Well said, Margaret. I will carry you thoughts and words with me. I was fortunate to do my first Camino Francis May-July, 2013 just before my 63rd birthday. It was an amazing experience. Meeting wonderful people from all around the world, many of whom I'm still in contact with, seeing some...

Need your help please.....I'm new :-)

It looks like you have plenty of good responses to your questions already. So, let me offer you one non-travel related tip for making your Camino last a lifetime. You will meet some wonderful people along The Way. Reach out to them, make friendships, and GET CONTACT INFO. If I could change...

How do you manage to get out of work for 5 weeks?

While I realize you posted this 2 years ago, I still just had to respond. Those folks you work for probably believe they are living the "American Dream". However, in my view it's more a nightmare. Don't let yourself be sucked into that life. I hope by this time you've completed your camino and...

    Snoring and Snorers

As one who had to visit almost every "Farmacia" I saw from SJPP to Santiago due to foot/blister/bunion problems I jokingly suggested to friends that an "Ear/Nose/Throat Clinic" set up next to them would be a money-maker. The snorers were an absolute pain-in-the-backside and made sound sleep...

Just returned from the Camino....Advice to others 60+ years

Re: Just returned from the Camino....Advice to others 60+ years I just returned from walking SJPP to Santiago. I'm 62. I had physical (leg and foot) issues prior to start of the walk. Took me seven weeks and a day to complete. I walked every step. I did use the "Mochilla transport" service on 4...

    Roncesvalles albergues

FYI - the Albergue in Roncevalles will accept PayPal for reservations. Costs an extra euro. Total is 11 euros. Much simpler than bank transfer.

    Roncesvalles albergues

Thanks Laurie, Think I will just take my chances on staying there without a reservation. I appreciate your reply. :)

    Roncesvalles albergues

Okay fellow peregrinos...I need a little help here. I sent email to Roncevalles albergue asking if I needed reservations for mid-May. Got a reply...in spanish...uh..I can figure out that yes I need a reservation...and it's 10eu...but not understanding how to get them the money. Looks like they...

    The "2-stamps-rule"

I received my credential from the "American Pilgrims on the Camino" office this week. On the passport itself is stated that "two stamps per day are required in Galicia. On the final day, pilgrims must obtain two stamps BEFORE entering the city of Santiago." My question: Other than the...

    Reservations at Refuge Orisson

Thank-you to all of you. Received an email from them telling me all they needed was the date I wanted to stay there. Once I sent that they initiated the charge to pay-pal and reservation was confirmed shortly thereafter. All's Well :D

    Reservations at Refuge Orisson

Have any of you made reservations at Refuge Orisson recently? Like in 2013? I find a contact form on their website but no reservation page. I have contacted them...they say to use "paypal" to make the deposit. Ok. But HOW? No reserve form, link or anything. I'm stumped. Thanks for your...
