Hi from NZ
I have just recently booked a French train - TGV - Paris > Bayonne
I have used the website sncf-connect.com - used previously + very pleased with it - you can download (+ print off, if needed) your ticket for the journey
Bonne chance

I have the MMDD guide and some great Forum information (- thanks Ivar), but can anyone recommend a helpful app which would be of assistance over that route ?

Hola Isabeau
Wow - so much to see...!
Pamplona is so worthwhile - I agree the Citadella is really impressive, AND the Museo is also great value
Olite is also well worth the sidetrip - impressive castle and an attractive little town - good access by the bus
Perhaps on balance, it may suit you...
Yes - I walked to Toulouse in June/August 2022 - I highly recommend BOTH the canal route (- the Rigole as well as the Canal du Midi itself - quiet, peaceful and easy going, if perhaps a little boring after a while) AND the gite of Passeur Elle
Bon chemin

Hi all - I'm planning again for next year, likely starting from Toulouse to continue the Chemin d'Arles - hope its not as hot in France...!
BTW - I'm MOST surprised at the NZers who are 'en chemin' at the moment - must be a record to have several posts on the same thread from Kiwis...!! (- no...
Hi from NZ
When I passed through a few years ago I stayed a couple of days in Burgos, which is just a short distance further on (- well worth the time there) - the Human Evolution Museum is GREAT, and from there you can book the bus trip out to Atapuerca - from memory the commentary is in...
hi mal
you are a long way from home....!
Congratulations on the start you have made
i'm in the waikato, and i'm just home from finishing the section of chemin d'arles from arles to toulouse - the first half or so was pretty tough, especially in the heat that france has been experiencing (- over...
Bravo Anna
I have been checking temperatures in Southern France, and I have been wondering from our autumn viewpoint, about your progress. I am interested to hear that the 'chaleur' has caused you to revise your plans - hope that the disappointment isnt too great for you and that the going...
Anna
Bon chemin de ma part as well
....et bon anniversaire too of course
I'm becoming excited as well - I hope to be about a month or so behind you - arriving in Paris mid-June then on to Avignon and Arles, then onwards from there towards Toulouse....

Thanks Kathar!na
I just widened the topic slightly to "Colonials arriving in the Iberian Peninsula" - can't let the Aussies take all the limelight...!
Merci / gracias

Yes - thanks for the info - good news for Kiwis as well
BUT what about arriving by land ? - eg over the Col de Somport (or indeed to Roncesvalles); or along the roads, eg from Perpignan
The website refers just to arrivals by sea and air, so can we assume no form is needed at any of the land...
Merci a vous tous
I have walked the CF from Roncesvalles as far as Burgos (or more properly Castrojeriz).
Because of the extension of the Holy Year to 2022, I have been thinking that the CF may well be more crowded this year if I continued on from there, so I've thought of Chemin d'Arles as...

Merci beaucoup for the suggestions
1) L'Atelier du Midi looks great - seems it has only 3 rooms, so I had better make up my mind; although the YHA/Auberge also looks great as well, and at a more budget-friendly level - it seems Arles has a choice of 4 hostels
2) I...
