People on the Camino that become your Friends

I walked the Camino Frances in the fall of 2015. I choose not to go the albergue/hostel accommodations way but booked my accommodations through a Camino travel agency. I was told by a Camino veteran of local Camino chapter that I would not experience the "true" Camino of communing with my...

    1st Camino, Starting from SJPP

Buen Camino LLBgirl! Don't stress it if Orisson doesn't come through. I hiked up and over the Napoleon route on the first day. However I arranged to have my back pack transferred to Roncesvalles and carried a day pack and it was fine. It took me 7.5 hours with many breaks, about 6.5 hours of...

    Hotels vs Albergues

I opted to go with an agency that arranged all my accommodations prior to starting my Camino. I was told by veteran Caminoist from our local chapter that I would miss out on the communal aspect of my pilgrimage. Wrong! By the time I had reached Logrono I had met a couple who became my Camino...

    "Luxury" Items

A half dozen hair conditioner sample packets. After washing my hair with the same bar of soap recommended for clothes, body and hair, my hair felt like dried straw. So glad I brought these with me. Only used a dime size amount at a time. Ooh the feel of soft untangled hair. Luxury!
