The front door was definitely locked in 2014,I think it was 07.00 when it was unlocked.
I was also there in 2015 and 2020 but left later so don't know if it was locked or not.
I would add that there were plenty of illuminated fire exit signs in the building, some leading to that courtyard area.
I have the dvd but unfortunately, for me,without the English subtitles so didn't fully appreciate it.
Now that I've had a reminder I shall watch it again and hope that by some miracle my grasp of French has improved.;)
I live quite close to the Western end of the SUW and, over the years, have criss crossed it many times whilst doing other walks in the Galloway Hills.

I have a Radical...
I couldn't agree more David. As the owner of a Radical Designs Wheelie V,which I have used at home in Scotland and on camino in Spain,a two wheeled hiking trailer is the only sensible way to go.
I reached Burgos just as the albegues were all closing on the 12th and was lucky to be given a bed.I am now in a very nice hostal in Santander until the ferry leaves in 5 days time.I have cut my stay in Spain short by a month. In my opinion anyone thinking of continuing with their camino is both...
