    Good snack for the Hospitales

Only on CF would those bulk tortillas be served ! Never seen em on any other camino. Using your eyes is best way of discerning quality. Microwaving egg renders them rubbery.

How many days from Lisbon to Santiago?

Can I ask what is your first ?

    Effectively Avoiding Blisters

I wear short ‘pop’ or stocking socks on top of Vaseline which takes much of the residue and also helps with friction so avoiding blisters. These are easy to clean out & dry at the end of the day. Eventually after hundreds of km you may get a bit of a build up on socks. Nothing that can’t be...

Permethrin treatment, down bags and putting one’s pack in a garbage bag at night….

Permethrin is a highly neurotoxic dangerous chemical. The thought of choosing to sleep bathed in its poison cloud baffles me.

    Spider bites?

Permethrin can be very toxic. I react to it and avoid contact. Read the active ingredient and google it

    Spider bites?

Oh well. That was my experience at A Guidiña. I have had many experiences of fleas and bedbugs. These were different. No itch. No nasty ongoing effects. They simply resolved without any attention

    Spider bites?

I had spider bites all over me after staying in the huge old dorm in A Gudiña on the VdlP. They weren’t itchy at all but looked pretty bad. It was ascertained by the pharmacist and others that it was spider bites not bedbugs. I stayed two nights in that dorm due to an injury. I changed bunks...

How did you transition to new credencial when your first got full?

Oh sorry I didn’t realise Marbe2. I guess I was only going on hearsay. On my seven Camino’s I’ve only ever collected the one a day unless it was an extra pretty one :)

How did you transition to new credencial when your first got full?

You don’t need two stamps a day on the final 100km unless you’re only starting 100km out. You’re obviously not. And no need to join them together. Just fill in your own details

    Via podiensis guide book

Are you anywhere near Wellington ? I walked the Via Podiensis (and onwards) in 2019 and used the Miam Dodo app which was excellent in conjunction with the Michelin guide which was of limited use but I liked it because it was light and was set out in sections with kms marked between villages and...

    Staffs in Seville?

I didn’t see staffs but bought walking poles at centrally located Decathlon in Sevilla before I started. Enjoy that wonderful Camino. I’m very envious :)

    Vegans on VDLP

Avoid soya milk if you’re serious about your health

    Raincoat or poncho?

Poncho with sleeves and zip right up to neck from knee

Dangerous dog between Triacastela and Sarria (2019)

I bought a small canister of pepper spray ( I think it had 3-5 sprays in it) at an army disposal type store in Salamanca. I never needed to use it but it gave me great security. Untethered dogs are my greatest and only fear on any Camino

Silk liner or sleeping bag, sun hat or umbrella?

    That's shadeless thanks spellcheck :-)
