Sorry to tell you this but this was my experience almost every night of my 34 day walk. I arrived in Santiago July 3rd and my feet still hurt every morning now!! I think it's pretty common for some folks. Good luck on your amazing journey!!

The mass was at. 7:30 pm but there was a special Pilgrims service in English in the little side chapel at 6:30. This gives you lots of time to get your Compestela and find a place to stay.
Congratulations Pilgrim!!!

So sorry to hear about your setbacks. My thoughts are...for what they're worth....the Camino does not care how you experience it...just as long as you experience it. It constantly teaches...and if you listen, it will tell you what you need to do. I met people who had a variety of setbacks and...
I stayed at The Jacobean for $45 euros per night for a private room and bath. It was clean and quiet...a nice change from an Albergue and close to the cathedral!

Spent last night in the Albergue Parrochial de Santa Maria...it changed my whole Camino. The 4 nuns held Vespers at 5:30 in the church and sang so beautifully...then we met in the reception room for introductions and a sing-along. At 8:00 pm there was a full mass with a special pilgrims...
I genuinely ran out of money in Belorado because I had to pay a dinner bill for a pilgrim in our group who accidentally forgot to pay. By the time I got to San Juan I realized I had to get to Burgos or I wouldn't eat. A very kind pilgrim from my country have me $20 euros in case I didn't make it...
Stopped in Viana after 4 sleepless nights committed to finding a single room in a hostel for the night. My walking friend found Casa Asun on Calle de Rueda which is meticulously clean, quiet and lovely for only $13 euros!

I bought a Spanish SIM card in the Barcelona subway. It cost $19 euros for one month. You get a new number but all my Viber and What's App contacts work fine. I check Camino websites for distance and accommodation everyday...

If you end up in Puente de la Reine and feel you can walk a little more...stay at the Albergue in Maneru. It's small, clean and cheap but the best part is the meal at dinner. The best tortilla in Spain..and the guy who runs the place is a gentle lovely soul.

I have a funny and weird story about starting my Camino in Pamplona. I took a hostal late on the first night so didn't get my credentials (passport). The next morning I walked to Jesus y Maria Albergue to get it and on the way...at 7:00 am...in the middle of the street...I saw a bed mattress ON...
I'm a 58 year old unfit woman. I did 2 hr daily "walks" at home for one month prior to coming. I am not a Camino "purist" and realized I better start in Pamplona and I'm glad I did. I'm lying in bed in Viana with sore feet and leg muscles but I can feel my body getting fitter, ever so slightly...
I rented a room in a newly renovated apartment B&B in Barcelona for $45 CDN per night. Go on AirBnB website for great places to stay. Then try to. See Sagrada Familia, ParkGuell, and the Olympic Parc on Montjuic. Walk the Main Street "Las Ramblas" for tapas and Sangria...yum!

Just left Barcelona on the 12:10 train to Pamplona. Bought the ticket 10 minutes ahead so don't worry about pre-booking! $60 euros with Renfe but go into the "today (hoy) large distance" ticket line. Buy a sandwich at the cafe after passing through security as there is no food for 4 hours!!
