    Suddenly feeling terrified

Yes I felt the same especially after day one on my first Camino. Solved it by silencing the inner critic. And made up a mentor encouraging me on my way. "You can do it" was one of my favorites. Best to your Camino.

    Luggage advice needed 2022

I used "stow your bag" service in Madrid. It is by the Atocha Train Station close to the Prado museum and park. https://www.stowyourbags.com/en/shop/madrid/luggage-storage-atocha-station/?gclid=CjwKCAjw6raYBhB7EiwABge5KjheTESQrMFvVd9U4-9NL9O-SVwhstTartMeeNSKSkaJYLm1FMIMTxoCBPMQAvD_BwE Buen...

    Muxia - Finisterre - Santiago?

I was thinking about the same route. I'm calculating that from the Santiago elevation to the ocean would mean more down hill sections than the reverse. So far, I have seen limited places to stay along the way. When I took the bus from Santiago to visit Finisterre, after a Camino to Santiago...

    Camino Loops

Interesting that in the loop, pilgrims would see you coming. Appreciate the "bell" comment. Been blindsided by no-warning riders this is not the destination but the way. 😀

    Must-have sellos in Santiago?

I have walked the Camino every five years and this last one was my fourth. Each one was both more challenging and more filled with wonder because I took time and experienced the journey along the way. The poem "Ithaca" by Constance P. Cavafy, explores the difference between the journey and the...

OBSOLETE COVID THREAD Testing before flight

I have just gone through this process. You can schedule an appointment for a time after you arrive in Madrid. The process is right at the airport. If you are flying Iberia, it is in that terminal. Best of luck. Elin

    Hot Water?

I have used a single cup coil for heating hot water. Plug it in and quickly it heats the water whatever container you use. It would take a couple of cups but all you need is one with EU plug ins. We pack what we need. Best to you.

    Tui to Santiago

At Tui you can go to A Guarda on the ocean (zero altitude) and take the coastal route to Vigo before connecting to the interior at Redondela. It is easier on your partner. Buen Camino. I will be walking in April as well.

Will we be met with scorn or equanimity?

You will be doing more physical labor on the ebike than those who don't walk but ride with the assistance of their horse. Few people scorn them. There were royalty who rode in carriages with servants carrying their baggage. The Camino is and was as diverse as the Canterbury Tales. Buen Camino.

Opción Pie - walking from Vilanova de Arousa to Pontecesures

Opcion is another way or another "option." Pie? Perhaps another kind of pie? Really helpful because I am waking that way in Spring.

    Variente Espiritual OR Camino Finisterre?

VE: Has anyone walked to Padron instead of taking the boat? Is there a path? Markings? Thanks. Elin

I have a walking disability, which Camino is best this December?

I walked the Portuguese Camino's coastal route from A Guarda which is mostly flat to Vigo. The rest has more mountains. There is the Spiritual Variant out of Ponteverde along the coast but I haven't taken that yet. Best to your journey.

    spiritual variant

Tried the avatar couldn't connect. If I walk the Spiritual Varient and take the boat to Padron, how far back do I have to go to walk 100k? Thanks.

    Jet Lag

I travel from the West Coast and use No Jet Lag a product that a friend from New Zealand suggested. "Lots of us use it," she said. "No mater where we go, it is always long distance." Been using it for years with good results. Good luck. http://www.nojetlag.com/

    All the Caminos in 3D

Hi Theresa, my friend and I are walking the Camino Ingles in mid-April. Have a question about getting from Madrid to A Corûna then Ferrol. We are not going to make it in 5 days and hope to find places to stay are open in between the mayor stops for most pilgrims. Thanks for starting the path...

Using a Cell Phone in Portugal: Tips for Traveling Canadians

Without you reaching out for an answer, I would have never know the SIM card tray existed or that I could open it with a paper clip. Idiot... no! With thanks. Elin

Hello....3rd time on Camino...first time communicating on the website.

Welcome and thank you for your comments especially that you two are of a certain age. It gives me courage and strength as I get closer that number. I live in Oregon, so somewhat neighbors. If all goes well, I will be walking the Camino Ingles in April as well. I have walked the Camino 3 times...
