I don't have an e-mail, but I just want to chime in to say this was one of my favorite places to stay in the four Caminos I have walked. I don't speak Portuguese or Spanish and this gentleman did not speak English, and at first I was intimidated by him. But, during our stay we did our best to...
Ditto what Tossi said - my flight from Madrid to Oviedo last summer was just $29! That's not typical, but I think flights are generally pretty reasonable between these two cities. Buen Camino!
I enthusiastically recommend the Oporto Loft Art Hotel - http://www.oportoloft.pt/en/hotel-rooms.html It is run by a lovely couple and the rooms and grounds are simply beautiful. Also, I took a bus from SdC to Porto with ease, and flying out of Porto was trouble-free (although I'm sure I showed...
Thank you everyone for the most helpful replies. A look at bus and train schedules confirms that it will be a very long trip, but doable if that's what we choose. We're still tossing ideas around, but the information you provided will help us in our planning
Hi All - Has anyone taken a bus or train from San Sebsatian to Lugo? My girlfriends and I want to dip a toe in the Norte before crossing over to the Primitivo. Any suggestions for how to do this transportation-wise would be greatly appreciated. And, I know there may be well-meaning suggestions...
I did use the Wise Pilgrim app last June on the CP (in addition to Brierley's guide). I didn't use the app that much because I had some connection problems on my phone. It did, however, direct me to one of my favorite places to stay - Casa Mattos in Rates. It was a helpful supplement.
If you find yourself going inland at some point, I highly recommend Casa Mattos (Casa Rural) in Rates (Rua Direita 240) - found this one on the Wise Pilgrim app - beautiful garden and accommodations and only 20 euro per person which included a lovely breakfast. I also recommend CR da Meixida in...
I walked the CP a few weeks ago and my friend found hiking poles at a cafe called Pescaria near Ponte de Lima. Thet have a Facebook page if you would like to map the location - search for Pescaria - Parque de Pesca e Cafetaria.

Thank you for your beautiful words, Skandinaviangirl. I can very much relate, especially to the mixture of joy and sadness when seeing others' photos who are currently walking. As for my post-Camino blues, I identified 12 "Camino practices" that I did on the Camino that can also be done at home...
In June, I walked from Santiago to Finisterre in four days:
Day 1 - Santiago to Negreira - 22 km (stayed at Hotel Millan - didn't love it)
Day 2 - Negreira to Olveiroa 33.1 km (Casa Loncho - loved it!)
Day 3 - Olveiroa to Cee - about 18km (Berimar - nice)
Day 4 - Cee to Finisterre - about 13 km...
Hi All,
This thread was just what I needed to read - I am not alone! In an attempt to carry on the peace and wholeness I felt on the Camino last summer, I am embarking on a 12-week quest to “walk” the Camino in my daily life through a series of Camino practices (if interested, see...
Hi All,
A theme that seems to come up repeatedly in this forum is adjusting to life after walking the Camino. In an attempt to carry on the peace and wholeness I felt on the Camino last summer, I am embarking on a 12-week quest to “walk” the Camino in my daily life through a series of...
Just an update - we made it to Finesterre just a few days after my original post, and all went extremely well. It is possible we were mildly dehydrated when I last wrote - we did embrace Spanish wine with each Pilgrim's meal. But, both CF and Finesterre turned out to be the experience of a...
My brother and I just walked from Leon to Santiago, and we felt great physically. In the 15 days we walked, we felt energetic and had no pains. Now, we are walking the Camino Finesterre after one day's rest in Santiago, and we feel a deep muscle fatigue in our legs. We are wondering why this is...
