I think you miss understood me. I only had 4 blisters my ENTIRE walk. One was due to those particular socks. And I completely agree about boots/shoes. That is why I was almost completely blister free. I tried other boots and no matter how much “breaking in” walking I did, I always got blisters...
Yes. I wore mine only 1 day and got a blister. I Tossed them out. It was 1 of the only 4 blisters I got walking avrerage 22 Miles a day for 29 days. I swear by my Salomon shoes.
Yes, I did mean guide book. Thanks, I’ll check it out.
I walked the Francis 2 years ago, so I know what you mean when you say the trail is well marked. That’s helpful
Hee, hee about the Hobbit. Hum, Maybe time to reread.
I had never used poles before I started my Camino. I was 54 and in decent shape when I started my solo Camino. I hesitated if I needed them. I can only say, I don’t think I could have walked, my average 23 Miles a day without them. If you are planning to walk shorter distances, say 10-12 miles a...
HI Eva,
It looks exactly the same. I used mine with a silk liner. Worked great together. Only problem is, it is slippery. You might want to use a safety pin to attach the throw to a side of your liner, so it doesn't fall off. A bit annoying when you're in a top bunk.
It's certainly warm...
HI Bob,
For what it's worth, I did split my day. I was a first time walker (55) in descent shape, but did not want to encounter any injury on my first day out. Many people experience injury on the first day and carry that injury with them their entire journey. Be it blisters, shin splints or...
HI,
Not sure where you live, but costco has stuff able down blankets for $19.99. Weigh about 500 g. Quite nice and warm. That is what I'm am bringing. (Along with silk liner) Sept 18- Oct30 2016

So, you think a vest with fleece and light weight windbreaker is a good option..? (It's all about the layers...learned that living in Seattle for 10 years LOL). I'm bringing a stuff able down blanket I bought at Costco $19.99. Can't beat that.
Thanks!
Thanks for the input!!! Why, I do have a light weight windproof/windbreaker jacket with hood, on my list to choose from. That was my initial though to use, with down jacket. Then I thought perhaps my Columbia waterproof jacket with down vest and light fleece was perhaps a better combo. Of...
My pack is at 5.5 k without water. I think I'm going to spray my convertible pants with a water repellant. I have wet weather jacket and poncho. Still debating down jacket or down vest. I will be bringing a light weight fleece. Wondering if down jacket is overkill and should only bring...
Hi all,
Newbie here...
I'm having a jacket dilemma. So far for cloathes, I'm bringing 2 short sleeve and 1 long sleeve merino wool tops. Also a long sleeve fleece. (Convertible pants and leggings). So this is the question, from the list below, what would you decide to bring for outer "jacket"...
