We did it in 27 days days. Here's a video I prepared earlier :)
However I haven't included the 2 rest days we had [Burgos & Leon]
I was 60 years old when I walked it in 2016. Had a few niggling injuries but very doable imo.
Buen Camino!
Hi Romalban, Yes we did walk the Camino Portuguese from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela. Here is a YouTube video which should answer all of your questions good and bad. It was a great adventure!!!
I'm sure you will love it! - Cheers, Julian
Hi Jim,
I'm getting to this thread rather late. You've probably already made up your mind whether or not you're going to start CP from Lisbon or Porto. For what it's worth this is my opinion after completing it all in March 2018. Besides being flat and boring it's also very dangerous with the...
Hey Jim, I've listed below the towns & hotels we stayed at. As mentioned in my video we didn't quite make it to a couple of the places on foot in a single day. We would train or taxi forward, then train or taxi back the next day and start walking. Good luck :)
MARCH 26 – VILAFRANCA / HOSTEL...
Well this is my day to day interpretation of the Portuguese Camino. [from Lisbon to Santiago]
Some people may not like it. There were certainly highs and lows. I always try to see the beauty in everything my eyes witness, and everywhere my feet carry me. Our intentions were to stay in some...
I walked the Portuguese Camino from Lisbon to Santiago this April. We cut across from Caminha to Valenca and it was all fairly easy. We walked on the side of the road from Caminha to Vila Nova de Cerveira, which was all fairly safe as there was room for traffic and pilgrims. Once in Vila Nova we...
Probably too late to reply to this posts as I’m sure you already have the answers you require but I’ll say it anyway. I’m currently on the CP in Caminha. We started from Lisbon 3 weeks ago with both the Trail Smart and Wise Pilgrim apps. Both have been invaluable. Because we often start walking...
Yes the cobblestones are never ending I’m afraid. We’re walking from Lisbon. Didn’t really notice them too much in the first few days, but since Porto they’re everywhere. You kind of get used to them There’s been quite a lot of mud around in the past week too due to recent rain. I’m sure it...
Thanks heaps for your reply Albertinho. Feel a lot more confident setting out tomorrow morning now. I’ll certainly be paying more attention while crossing over the Minho River knowing the great Ferdinand Eiffel played a major part in the design...
Kind Regards again... Julian
Currently walking the Camino Portugues. Tomorrow we’re planning to cross from CAMINHA on the coastal route to TUI on the central. Can anyone tell me who has completed this section whether or not it is well marked with arrows etc? - Thx Jules.
That's a shame the Alpriate Albergue won't be open to April 2nd. We were planning to stay there March 26th. Looks like we may need to walk on a little further - Thanks for the update peregrina2000
My partner and I are locked in to commence the Lisbon to Santiago pilgrimage from March 26, 2018. Can't wait! - thoroughly enjoyed CF in Sept.2016. Good to see we won't be the only ones walking at that time of year with others like Butterfly & Givesome starting around the same time. Hopefully...
Thanks for all the responses Camino friends. Really appreciate it :) Don't have time to reply as I am about to hit the trail again. You've given me some great information though. Thx Heaps!
Hi all just arrived in Villafranca after a gruelling walk from Granon. I plan to be in Burgos within 48 hours and wondered if anyone knew of any good 'English' speaking doctors along 'The Way in Burgos? My right leg swells just above the ankle (front) and I need to get it seen to. It's only been...
Thanks for all the great advice folks. Really appreciate it.
I realise in a way, the Camino provides a good opportunity to get away from daily electronic gadgets etc. I just find it a lot a lot easier to read off a screen these days [failing eyesight perhaps]
I figured an iPad may be of...
How necessary is it to carry a guide book [ie: John Brierley’s Pilgrims guide] on the Camino Frances. Are the yellow arrows splattered all over the place enough. I have all the GPS Apps that don’t require data. Is this sufficient? - Truth be told, I’d rather take an iPad than a guide book...
