    Nazaré to Fatima Walking Route

I walked this path last spring. It is a great walk, it is fairly well marked, though not as many resources. There is a guidebook available, published by Centro Nacional de Cultura. Also, they are developing a website and apps to cover all the Caminhos de Fatima, as referenced in other posts.

    A long (winding) road.

September 2022, between Castrojeriz and the middle of nowhere.

    Meseta

In addition to the stops mentioned above, I have stayed in the little towns of Moratinos, San Nicolas Real del Camino, and Calzadilla de los Hermanillos. Some of my best memories are from these places.

    Certificate in Fatima?

I walked from Nazaré to Fátima in the spring of 2023 (on a highly modified CP). In Fátima, there was a stamp only, no certificate. The office at the sanctuary had no idea of one.

Business ideas? - Just for fun!

With the advances in AI, this would be a money-maker. I've never thought of religious professionals being replaced by technology until now 😂

Camino from Coimbra starting next week

As mentioned above, the owner of the Albergue Moinho Garcia in Pinheiro Da Bemoosta can guide you to coastal route that leads to Porto. In Albergaria A Velha, the hospitalera can guide you through another route that leads to Santa Maria de Feira (a fantastic town) and into Porto. Either of...

What part of the Camino from Lisbon to Porto is worth seeing?

I was at the Tomar end of the aqueduct when I learned that we could walk across it. After the long day, I decided to not backtrack. Wish I would have.

What part of the Camino from Lisbon to Porto is worth seeing?

The Caminho da Nazaré is a good, 2-day walk from Nazaré to Fátima. From Fátima, you can walk to Tomar in one long day 35 (kms) or break it into 2. And agree with the post earlier, Tomar to Coimbra is a great walk!

    Wise Pilgrim Camino Frances App

I bought it and used it on the Frances in Sep/Oct of 2022. It was very useful, and I preferred it over a guidebook.

    Santiago to Barcelona

Yes, that was the most inconvenient part of a great trip. The Santiago train arrives at one train station and the Barce train leaves from another. It's an easy cab ride and the trains leave for Barcelona every 30 minutes (if I recall, could be an hour), so there's no rush to get across town. I...

    Santiago to Barcelona

I have flown from Santiago to Barcelona and have taken the train - Santiago-Madrid-Barcelona. I much prefer the train, it is high-speed rail, less hassle than the airports, and is a great way to see the countryside. It does take a few hours longer, though.

Apparitions and other mysteries on your Camino

Not an apparition, but mysterious for sure... Before leaving Cacabelos, bound for O'Cebreiro, I read a devotional from my favorite Franciscan teacher (everybody has one, right?). In the devotional was this poem by Rainer Rilke: "God speaks to each of us as he makes us, then walks with us...

    Reversing The Camino To SJPP

I met a young lady last year in between Roncesvalles and Zubiri; she was from Italy, had walked from her front door to Santiago, and was making her way back when I met her. It made me feel a little bit like a whine about complaining of tired legs after one day of walking : )

Good albergue at Puente de la Reina

It is nice but that walk up the hill at the end of the day is tough...does give one a head start on the next day though!
