I went solo in 2017. Never regretted it. Always opportunities to walk with people you e met the night before in the albergues. Will be going again and absolutely solo again.
I walked solo in 2017. I had no issue with safety; there were times I was walking alone but never felt unsafe. I even got lost once but found my way back no problem. I met many people and ended up walking bits of the Camino with them. I am still in touch some to this day. I didn't walk...
Boredom was something I did not even remotely experience on my Camino Francis I’m 2017. Joy, wonder, pain, exhaustion, happiness, panic (I got lost one day), satisfaction, mental and physical strength ….and more were experienced but never boredom.
For the past year or so I've practiced a daily fast and I don't eat till noon from the previous night....very good health benefits that I won't get into here (google) therefore I then don't worry about breakfast. A fat coffee is during the a.m. definitely helps get you to lunch.
On the Camino Frances they are few and far between if you are looking for man-made facilities. As the CF is the most travelled route I would expect the others to be even less available. Fortunately nature provides screening in many places. If coffee is your issue don't drink it..... I don't...
What is the availability of Wifi along the Camino Frances? And before one of you asks "why"......to keep in touch and calm an aging/ailing family member. I am trying to decide between getting a Spanish SIM card; add a travel plan to my existing coverage in Canada or use WhatsApp. Thanks.
