We started in Junta de los Caminos, and we got our first sello in Almogia. The route is well marked.

LIVE from the Camino My favourite Camino so far (Mozarabe Almería - Mérida 17 Feb - 19 Mar)

The Río Búrdalo crossing problem will soon be a thing of the past. The Asociación Jacobea de Badajoz has recently announced that there is funding for a foot bridge across the río. The Badajoz association is very proactive, although not on the same level as the Almería-Granada one. They don't...

Nely closes La Estrella del Camino

Sad news, Nely closes her albergue in Almería, La Estrella del Camino. Here's her message: Donativo doesn't work: recent pilgrims were leaving not more than €2 . And that includes breakfast! In February, she started asking €20 per person, and someone reported her to the authorities because...

    Starting Mozarabe in Malaga 4/2024

Try contacting them through their website: https://caminomozarabedemalaga.com/contacto/ Or as I mentioned, get a credenciale from Ivar's shop. Failing that, you can try: - asking at the cathedral - asking at the church of Santiago (when it's open, so go at the times when they have mass) - asking...

    Starting Mozarabe in Malaga 4/2024

And I was right, I didn't write much on the forum about our walk from Málaga. You'll find the relevant post here: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/slow-walkers-almeria-to-merida.77000/post-1146709 So definitely go to FindPenguins for more details 😄

    Starting Mozarabe in Malaga 4/2024

We enjoyed our walk from Málaga. The Asociación Jacobea de Málaga meets every Tuesday evening at 7pm at Calle República Argentina 9. It's in El Limonar, to the East from the city centre. They'll give you a list of the albergues, and you can get your credenciale from them. If you're not there on...

Learning Portuguese from Portugal (not Brazilian)

We thought of following the Camino do Mar. We'll be starting at the end of August, and I thought staying closer to the coast might bring us some cooler temperatures. We experienced that when we walked the Norte in 2018, also in August and September. And my darling loves beach walking. So we'll...

Learning Portuguese from Portugal (not Brazilian)

My darling and I will attempt to walk the Caminho Português from Lisboa, starting westward and following the coast to Nazaré, then Fátima and getting back on the Caminho in Tomar. We tried to study Portuguese on one of the most popular language apps, but it's Brazilian Portuguese, and we would...

Has anyone walked the Baztan in a group?

 We're starting from Bayonne on 18 May. We're distance challenged slow walkers, so we always arrive last at an albergue. Hopefully your group will save us two beds... Or should I think about booking ahead all our accommodation? ;) Edit: I contacted the hospitalera at Olagüe. She replied...

Alternative from Bayonne to Urdax via St-Pée-sur-Nivelle

Happy New Year to all! Planning ahead for our stages on the Baztán, I made some enquiries with the Amis du Chemin de St-Jacques de Compostelle en Pyrénées Atlantiques. One of the issues I have is that we'll be in either Souraïde or Espelette on the Pentecost weekend, which extends to the Lundi...

    busses on the Mozarabe

March, April and May are the "busy" months for the Camino Mozárabe. These are the departure numbers from Almería in 2023: March 114 April 192 May 80 We started this year on 26 April 2023, and we were in a bubble of pilgrims for the first few days. The albergues in Santa Fe de Mondujar, in...

    busses on the Mozarabe

I'm glad you clarified your request, as I was about to give you our stages. My wife and I are known as the distance challenged slow walkers, and I have always had to have a plan B for any stage, in case my wife could not walk the distance. We walked last year from Almeria to Castro del Rio, and...

A few days on Mozarabe from Malaga

You'll find tracks in KML format here: https://centrodedescargas.cnig.es/CentroDescargas/loadCamSan.do You'll see the first few are the Caminos Andaluces. If you use Wikiloc, you'll also find many GPS tracks (GPX format). I have recorded this year's walks from Almería and Málaga to Mérida. Look...

A few days on Mozarabe from Malaga

We walked in May this year. If you have time and you're in Málaga on a Tuesday, you can meet the amigos of the Asociación Jacobea de Málaga at 7pm, at Calle República Argentina 9. They have credenciales, they'll give you a sello, and all the info required. As mentioned earlier, you'll get the...

Slow walkers on the Baztan in May 2024

Thank you to @Bad Pilgrim for his recent report on his walk on the Baztan and to @Pelerina for her comments. Together with my darling, we intend walking the Baztan in May 2024. My initial plan, as we're slow walkers and distance challenged ☺️ is as follows: Saturday 18 May Bayonne to Ustaritz...

Casa Violeta, Hueneja - contact details

Hostal González is about 2km out of town, and it is on the autovía. There's a restaurant there, which means you don't need to go back to Huéneja to eat. You have to come back to Huéneja to get back on the Camino.

LIVE from the Camino Mozárabe de Almería in October

If it's not too late, @MarianneGardner , and you're walking to Huéneja, may I suggest you stay with Violeta, provided she has availability. The albergue in Huéneja is run by the ayuntamiento, and is not the best.
