We are doing the Portuguese route on bicycle. We came across a couple from Iraly who were doing it on horseback. They started in Lisbon. They were enjoying their journey and camping in parks along the way.
We have searched the entire book a few times and there is no index or legend for the dotted coloured routes. I agree that this was not the best choice of guide books. We have found other discrepancies in it too.

In the auberges and hostels, are there hair dryers available in the bathrooms? I want to pack really light but sometimes there are items you can't do without!
We will be starting our journey in Lisbon on May 10th with a few days ahead to enjoy the city. Any recommendations for a reasonable hotel or B&B? We would like a central location and a private room.
After we finish the Camino in May, we hope to spend a few days driving and exploring the northern coast of Spain. I am looking for suggestions on cities that we could fly to London Gatwick from without going back to Santiago. If you have a suggestions, could you also please post the airline...
Any recommendations/suggestions for bike rental from Lisbon and dropping off in Santiago? I found one company "Cycling Rentals", however, wonder if there are other options available.
We are hoping to ride the route from Lisbon to Porto then onto Santiago. Has anyone done this trip, and if so, what should be be aware of. Are there places to rent bikes in Lisbon for this purpose? We prefer not to join a guided tour. Are there any specific bicycle books available?
