My favourite albergue is Casa Susi in Trabadelo. It is owned and ran by an Aussie (Susi) and a Spaniard (Fermin). They met on the Camino several years back and decided to open an albergue together. They got married this year.
Oh, sorry, it was Santiago. There was a cafe open until 11pm ish and then a couple of flight arrivals at about midnight.. after that the airport was very quiet, lights were dimmed and everyone picked a bench and tried to have a snooze. There are also several vending machines offering drinks and...
It wasn't too bad. Several people with the same plan but there was adequate bench space for people to set themselves up. It appeared that everyone apart from me managed to get some sleep.
Hi all, just a quickie.
With another camino under my belt (albeit a mini one) I'm now stuck in the airport from now (10.40pm) until 6am when my flight leaves.
If you are in the same situation I've decided to hold a small but friendly gathering near the europcar/enterprise desk. I have half a...
Hi all, just a quickie.
I'm in sarria now and will be here til 3pm tomorrow (saturday 5th).
I've got 3 walking poles that you're welcome to if you want them. (matching pair and a single).

Hi all, just a quickie..
May I suggest that if you plan to start a camino from just before O Cebreiro that you do some training that involves a hill or two.. I have just climbed it on day 2 of my minicamino and it nearly did me in !!
I watched my dvd of the way 3 times before I set off, I...
Hi all, just a quickie,
I set off from Villafranca del Bierzo on Sunday with a plan to walk 9 shorter days.. there's a very strong chance I won't be getting anywhere near Santiago. This will be the first time I've walked and not ended at the cathedral and it just feels kind of... Odd? I'm not...
This is definitely an option ! I've already walked Finisterre so wouldn't mind bussing it. Not walked Muxia yet so I'll have to save that for when I can walk there
An afternoon in Finisterre could definitely break the day up!
Hi all, just a quickie,
My flight home means I need to be at the airport at 4am Tuesday..
I'll be in sdc from Sunday so Sunday night will be an albergue (probably)..
What would you do Monday night?
Albergue? Hotel? Save the money and get a bus to airport at 10pm ish?
Not having anywhere to...
Hi all, just a quickie,
I start my camino in just under two weeks.. I only decided to book a Camino a week or so ago, meaning I've had a total of 3 weeks to prepare.
After 49 years of eating only pizza, kebab and chips I've been eating salad for the last 10 days but it doesn't seem to be making...
Being at least 14% stupider than you, I've never even heard of it! The map thing sounds good though although I think it's a bit late for me to swap platforms.. someone start a poll !! 😃
Hi all.
Does anyone know if/where I can pick up a shell for my backpack in Villafranca del Bierzo?
I've never started halfway alone a route before and will need two of them.
Sybil (mum) keeps all mine on her wall and will be sad if I don't bring her one back
