    Getting to Irun from Biarritz

I did the Norte in 2018. You can walk from Biarritz to Irun in one day. I did this. Its a very beautiful walk. You just follow the sea there's a few boulders to negotiate for a tiny stretch and then it's very easy walking. On some parts you'll be walking bare feet along the sand beach with...

SJPP to Roncesvalles - your personal experience

Yes agree. And also seeing that famous road sign tellling you you have only 790km to go is better after a sleep over in Roncesvalles. You should stop here if you can. Its great for making companions and linger a while your first steps on Spanish soil before striding out...

SJPP to Roncesvalles - your personal experience

Yeah its a very special journey. It's not too bad if you're fit. About 6/7hours to Roncesvalles from St Jean. Orrisson is too close to StJean (for me) to stop but its supposed to be a fantastic Albergue there. I walked down the steep track to Roncesvalles through the woods, it's not so bad...

I was up there at start of September and it was absolutely freezing. My hands lost feeling walking through freezing rain. In April I'd be expecting some cold weather up there too

Biarritz to St Jean - Beginning day after 1pm to Roncevalles?

As someone who has walked from SJPdP (over Napoleon) to Santiago in 17 days, I can very highly recommend slowing right down and taking everything in. There's no need for rushing and speeding to next destination. The Camino itself is the destination. 🖐️🙋

Biarritz to St Jean - Beginning day after 1pm to Roncevalles?

No, I wouldn't do that. Too rushed You should spend a relaxing night in St Jean, talking in all the atmosphere and making companions, leave at 7am the following morning after breakfast.

Camino Frances in March 2022.. Advice ??

March will be very quiet. Also you will have a later start in the mornings as the dawn will be 07:40ish. It will be quite cold at the start so dress well. As for accommodation, there is so much to choose from on the Frances and I would not worry any at that time of year. I walked from SJPdP to...

SJPDP to Finisterre in 30 days? I needs some itinerary help.

30 days would be a fair pace from St Jean all the way to Finisterre In 2017 I did 25 days form St Jean to Santiago And spent 2 nights in Burgos to see the museum So it can be done in 24 days - if you don’t stop somewhere That would leave 6 days for Santiago to Finisterre I have done that...
