John - this is a great blog. Did you really use it to "create a book"? If so, which app did you use to create the book? I tried to use a facebook Private Group, but couldn't get it to work.
I winged it myself in April of 2019. I strongly recommend stopping the first day in Orisson, taking two days to get to Roncevalles. I hiked alone (never really alone) for my 60th birthday. You will find many "roses" along your way - if you take the time to look.

I had a lightweight down mummy bag - the weight worked fine - but I wouldn't use a mummy bag again - I wanted room to stretch my legs after a long day walking! Also, the mummy bag was tougher to sleep on top of on those days when it was super hot.
