Gronze has a note for the albergue in Valdesalor saying the key needs to be picked up from the town hall or the bar. Am I correct in assuming that this only applies if you are the first to arrive? Or does everyone need to pick up a key? Not sure if they give everyone their own key, or if it’s...
When you stop at a bar for a beer, wine, coffee or bite to eat, and sit at a table, is it expected that you will return your dirty dishes up to the bar before you leave? I alway do, as it seems rude to leave my glass or plate on the table and force the bar person to come and clear it, but I...
Thanks for sharing. I’m looking forward to seeing it.
The person that wrote the song Somewhere Along the Way will be on the CF next month making another Camino documentary, called Somewhere Along the Way. Two new films to look forward to.
Thanks so much. Saw this before I went to sleep and it put me in a better mood. The walk was great, especially the first few hours. The last hour dragged a bit, and the sun was relentless, but I made it. Your tips were appreciated.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve gone ahead and booked a private room in Monesterio. No refund, so I have no choice now :-). The thought of a private room at the end should motivate me.
Thanks for the quick reply, and great to hear from someone who is really familiar. Hopefully the stream won’t be an issue. I don’t think it’s been raining for the past week or more.
You’ve got me leaning towards making an early start and going all the way.
I’m at Almadén de la Plata at the moment, and my options for tomorrow are to go as far as El Real de la Jara (approx 14km) or continue on to Monesterio (approx 34km). 34 km is a bit far for day 4 and not sure my legs are ready, but I wouldn’t mind going all the way.
For anyone that recalls...
Probably an unpopular take, but I find many people overthink water and water bottles. If you’re walking the CF you are almost always within a couple km of water. I bought a small 500ml bottle of water when I arrived and carried that and refilled it. And on many days I barely touched the water I...
Fair enough, but if that's the case that's hardly intuitive for passengers booking. It's not reasonable to expect them to already be aware that there is only one airport that accepts passengers in Madrid and therefore they don't bother with the airport code. I think this is the first airline in...
As I mentioned, I'm using their website, not the app. The website shows the city pairs, not the airport codes. It is what it is, I'm not being paid to disparage Ryanair or anything.
The screenshot you sent was from Google, not Ryanair. Look closer.
Here's what you see on the Ryanair site. No airport code. This is the second screen. The first only lists the city as well. All the screens at least up until you provide your credit card only lists "Madrid".
Thanks. Google is smart enough to use the three-letter airport code. Ryanair spells out the city name. Perhaps further into the booking process it would display the airport code, but not initially.
Can someone please confirm that if you fly with Ryanair from SDC to Madrid, that you will arrive at the Madrid-Barajas International airport?
Such a simple question, yet incredibly frustrating trying to confirm the answer. Ryanair, in its infinite wisdom, doesn't include the name of the airport...
Similar comments can be made about virtually every form of tourism. There's always a positive and negative side to it. I admit that the older I get the more I start to see the negative consequences, which is probably part of the reason I left the industry after so many years. But there are...
