Hi..from Canada too. Roaming charges for us Canuks is absurdly expensive compared to simply getting a local SIM. I'm with a major carrier and my roaming would be $15/day but instead I got a SIM card in Pamplona for $10EU that lasted me for a MONTH - with more data, phoning and texting than I'd...
I transitioned out of pilgrim mode into tourist mode by doing touristy things in and around SJPP with my Camino friends (folks I met while walking). Spent 4 days there eating tapas, celebrating, shopping, and taking bus tours with different folks from all over the world who, like me, were...
I completed the Frances this month - starting at SJPP in very late Sept and finishing early in Nov. I stayed on stage and off stage - you have to judge the flow and the cadence as you go but most importantly you need to judge how you feel physically or where you might like to spend more time for...
The (constant and often rolling) rocks were a real killer for me - thank-you for mentioning this. I would absolutely agree that some kind of practice that involves walking up and down rocky hills would be very helpful!
One thing you will probably find, and I noted when finishing, is that you will want to spend some time celebrating and also saying 'good-bye' to other pilgrims you have met along the way. I spent 3 days doing this as people you've walked with finish on different days and people schedule their...
Clinical Revimedic failed to indicate on the certificate that my test was a PCR test. They indicated nucleic acid test, and although that is legitimate per gov.ca, SATA would not allow me to board my flight today. Very disappointed.
Hola! I am looking for a recommendation for PCR test lab in Santiago with English speaking/results available electronically.
I am finishing Monday and will need this test in order to fly back home.
Thank-you!

Thank you. I am on Camino now...going much slower than the stages and in significant pain - I enjoyed your post as I was starting to let negativity seep into my day. A 'reboot' is exactly the main reason why I came and walked. I needed to get rid of the negativity that had inundated everyday...
I carry a roll of doggie bags with me to put my own tissue waste in. As an avid hiker in Canada the "leave no Trace"
I carry a roll of doggie waste bags with me to pack out my own tissue waste. The litter is disgusting and irresponsible.
Thank you very much for this real life snapshot. We are also from MB and leaving next week. Can't wait to get over there and have all this planning and research behind us so we can just walk!!!
Buen Camino!
Hello/Bonjour/Hola;
I'm Canadian with two mixed brand vaccines and am flying into CDG. I am wondering about how mixed vaccine brands are viewed at the borders? Are there any other Canadians who have a mixed vax that can provide information whether it was a problem either in France or in Spain...
