    Thoroughly depressing

Oh no! I had the same reaction when I moved cross-country to the rainy West-coast... Maybe plan your next Camino with a few flexible days of 'leisure'. If it rains again so thoroughly you can wait it out in a beautiful city. Wish I'd had an extra day in Pamplona!

    Training schedule for the busy

Wow! I think you'll be fine. Even folks with no prep make it work after a couple days; you get fit fast! More than the fatigue, you'll want to watch out for your knees. I doubt your bootcamp routine is preparing you for the intense downhill portions. I strongly suggest buying hiking poles, they...

What did it mean to you?

Beyond all the physical and simplifying advantages of the Camino, I grew a lot personally by introducing myself to new people every day. I learned more about myself every time, just based off the conversations I had about my life and career choices. Did I really want to be doing X? I started...

    Weather at Roncesvalles

That's nuts! Makes me want to try a winter Camino though. If properly prepared it would be a a very cool trip!

    Let's talk weight... BODY weight

I started my Camino at 120 pounds and gained about 5-8 pounds of muscle over the 3 months I walked. I probably lost a couple pounds in the first week or two, mostly because my body wasn't used to taking in enough calories (that changed fast!) Great food and endless exercise! I've never been so...

Anxious debate with myself about the Camino

The best part of the Camino is the time it gives you to think about big questions like that... something of a catch 22! Definitely don't give everything up for the walk, it's not an answer to everything. But I guarantee you'll come out of it with more insight and a clearer picture of who you...

    Not Drinking and Meals

Translation card is the way to go! I used one in Spain and all the hosts I stayed with were patient and respectful of my limited Spanish. Definitely make sure that the card includes the fact that you're allergic, that it's not just a preference. Buen Camino!
