Madrid airport to Pamplona

I recently walked the Camino from Pamplona and flew in from Madrid with Air Nostrum (part of Iberia). If you have walking poles then your pack has to be checked luggage.

SJPDP to Roncesvalles. Stop in Valcarlos? Or go the Napoleon Route?

San Sebastián is worth a visit in itself... Two years ago, I had a rest day in St Jean, after walking from Le Puy, and used it to do a day walk over the Napoleon Route, to wel past Orrison, but the mist and fog obscured all, on the plateau, until I was descending back to St Jean. I still...

How to deal with the dogs on the way of Camino

Saw lots of dogs inside their property boundaries between Le Puy and SJPP, but none loose. Only time I was worried was when I lost the trail briefly and ended up in a farm yard, with no one home but a large Alsatian cross who tried to levitate himself out of his cage, by swinging on a tree...
