Hi,
You will find documentation about Camino Catalan at the Tourist office of Figueres. When we walked through Figueres, they gave us documentation and a map related to Camino in Catalunya.
They are Plaça del Sol, on N2, that main road crossing the city.
We did the same you are planning to do...
Thanks for the information, Laurie. I hope to get the same welcome at Santa Maria de Oló you apparently received.
I look forward reading the details of your various lodgings.
I wish you a "Buen Camino" for the rest of the stages you still have to walk.
francis
I am still investigating for lodging solutions between Vic and Manresa.
As it seems that a solution is on process (?, i'd like to share it with you.
I have exchanged mails with an hostal in Santa Maria de Oló whose name is "Hostal Santa Maria".
They answered, yesterday, that their hostal is...
Hello Laurie,
I have read on the forum that you walked Catalan with an other pilgrim who joined you in Montserrat. Is there a possibility that you give us information about the lodging you used
between Vic and Montserrat as we discussed it many times together without finding a suitable...
Just received an answer from Cal Cabata, in L'Estany. Yes, they do propose rooms to let during the week days.
During week ends, it seems that it could be more problematic, specially for one night as it seems that, at that moment of the week, they rent the whole house at once.
Thanks vm Laurie, that new link work properly and gives interesting information that we shall study carefully.
I'll phone the monastery when i'll have set up at what date we are in l'Estany. By the way, if any pilgrim pass through l'Estany on 8 and 9 September, be advised that, according to the...
Hello Laurie,
So, decision was made to return, next September, on Girones + Catalan.
That is the reason why i am visiting what was said or written about it/them.
I wish to mention that the link you mention in your above mentioned message is , not only, not active. BUT, when i try to open it...
Hi, Laurie,
Your plans to walk to Puente la Reina are also ours concerning Sant Jaume. After having walked from the french border to Vic, we are, as i said in my previous message considering to "finish" what we have begun.
As you know, we have also begun Mozarabe to Cordoba.
You are right...
Hello to Laurie, Sue and everybody !
Back from New Zealand where we have got the chance to get a very nice weather when walking the famous Tongariro Crossing, and a few days spent in our family in Sydney, we are back to French Riviera.
Yesterday, we had a long discussion regarding Caminos.
We...
It is a pleasure, Laurie.
Let me add one detail. Don't do the same mistake we did and walk roughly 2kms for nothing.
After having passed Pontos, you'll walk for something like 2 kms down to Nacional II.
When arrived at the crossroad, turn right (not left as we did as we were tired), there...
Hello Laurie ,
I don't know about the way through Oriols as we walked to Medinya throu Vilademuls. Most of the walk is asphalt except the two or three last kms before entering Medinya where we meet again asphalt.
Yes, many up and downs some of them steep. We met "dissuasive" dogs, i mean...
Hello Sulu,
I really do not know whether Girona welcomes pilgrims or not, but i have to mention that when we arrived in city tourism office, close to the river and at the foot of the old town, we were warmly welcomed and our credencial was stamped with a nice sello dedicated to cami sant jaume...
Ouf ! i had the "revelation" as i walked after lunch. I said to myself "how is it possible that i can read the link on my own site and that Laurie and Sue (and others) cannot". When back home, i checked again and found that I had not clicked on the appropriate "button". Hopefully, it is fixed...
Hello Sue,
Thanks for your kind message. I have modified one criteria regarding the site "engine". Please, will you check whether you are able to consult Camino Girones tag, now ?
Thanks for your assistance in this matter.
Francis
Hello Laurie,
Not to worry about the mysteries of technology, you are not the only one and i am not far before you...
On my side, everything seems to be all right so i would recomend you to google (out of this forum) http://www.stjacques.fr.
Then you might see the Camino Gironès tab.
Or may...
Hi Ivar,
You are right. The link works fine.
I realize that Camino Catalan is shown as Camino Gironès (Catalan). The related tab is situated on the left hand site of the blog (site) as the last one of the Caminos we walked.
Thanks for having looked at that matter.
Francis
I just clicked on the adress "stjacques" you mentioned in your message and it worked properly showing Catalan...
I have withdrawn the blog adress that was appearing in my "signature".
