Alternative towns to Mougas and Vigo

I agree with @jungleboy Oia and La Cala are worth stopping for, such breathtaking coastal beauty during the day or at night ! And all that fresh sea air ! You must stay in Baiona too. Then you can walk along the coast into Vigo and finish at Samil beach, call a Taxi to get into the city centre...

    Senda Litoral From Esposende

Yes I've been both ways after Sebastaio Bridge. It's easier to follow if you go right the official way as you keep to the yellow arrows etc. Left is less well signed but still an adventure as you get to see more coast compared with interior route so if you use my mate's Luis Freixo's maps (he...

100km marker in Vigo? Where is it?

That's an excellent question! Vigo Council have refused to signpost the Camino as they don't agree with the route proposed by the Galician Regional Government. However, the Pilgrim Office confirmed that Vigo is 100 km from Santiago so you can start from there to get your Compostela. For...

    All inclusive tour operators

I'm glad I can help. I always get criticised if I write something positive about the agencies...I just like to help pilgrims... agency ones as well..I would appreciate an occasional Like that keeps me motivated to help others too!

    All inclusive tour operators

I'm not going to argue whether it's positive or negative.. I'm just telling it how it is... Many people like people with mobility impairments cannot walk such distances on the Camino without assistance like transfer of their luggage.. Rightly or wrongly agencies fulfill their role .. We live in...

    All inclusive tour operators

Yes I'm self employed but have worked for them both doing videos of the routes, adding new routes, content writing and recommending hotels etc. They are very competitive. when they do your reservation they have much better buying power than one of us going direct to a hotel. They have thousands...

I started in Porto on coastal on 30th May just arrived in Arcade... Ivar is indeed correct.. Senda Litoral or Coastal from Viana do Castelo to Viana Praia de Ancora?

Yes I prefer the shoreline route as its very beautiful with fantastic coastal views ,flat and at times remote and peaceful. Leaving Viana is straightforward passing the Fort then picking up the Coastal path passing another Fort and isolated windmills. Then boardwalks between dunes. Careful after...

    Any Must Try Pilgrim Menus?

The bars/restaurants in Northern Portugal and Galicia serve the same food for pilgrims menu as they do for menu del dia albeit they often offer 2 courses for pilgrims rather than 3 for menu del dia so its cheaper although you can convert to menu del dia !
