Beware da Brasa Restaurant Albergaria a Velha

This could be a simple misunderstanding, which as we all know, is easy for it to happen when we are not speaking the same language (or even when we do). Not sure there is a need to boycott this place for that reason. Now, if the wine poor, them forget the place. :-) Chris

    Burst my camino bubble.

when I went on the Camino I had no expectation, I was not looking for some type of revelation or miracle. The Camino is just a place, amazing and beautiful, but just a place. Having said that, I find incredibly convenient to go on a trail that has a great infrastructure in place to make it easy...

LIVE from the Camino Debit card trouble at Barajas

Oh well, life in the big city... Is good to know what the problem was/is. Hope you are able to come back and finish your Camino. In my case I took money from home in cash, a debit card and two credit cards which I ended up no needing but was good to know I had them just in case. All the best...

LIVE from the Camino Debit card trouble at Barajas

I know that the amount of digits in the security pin makes a difference as well, Spain works with a four digest pin numbers and some other banking institutions and countries use six. If not too late, you may want to go into a bank and ask if there is a way to work this out. Spain is a country...

How did you discover the Camino?

I discovered the Camino when I was in grade 7 in Chile, which is a long time ago as I'm 61 years old now. Our teacher at the time asked the class to write a paper about the street we resided in, so we all did a story including the name of the street and why is had been name that way. My street...

    What became of your plans?

I made reservation for Valcarlos for this September, not sure why but I did. The rest including St. Jean I'm in God good humour. My plan is no plan, I'll walk until I don't want to walk no more. Hopefully I will find a warm shower and a cold cerveza at the end of each day.

Little-traveled routes - How do seasoned pilgrims remember the details so well?

I was wandering the same thing myself, how people remember all those details with so much clarity. People like Tinker are just amazing to me, I can't remember what I had for lunch little else where. We did a driving trip around the perimeters of the Baltic Sea 3 years ago, I clearly remember...

Is the Camino losing its identity

Camino is no longer what it used to be, this is the general lament. Personally I’m glad it changed and like everything in life is evolving, as change is the only constant in life. I can assure you that if the Camino to Santiago did not have the modern infrastructure it has today, many of us...

    Common Sense is no longer

As I read different posting and threats I see how often we say "Is only Common Sense" to do this or that. We keep referring to it as if it was something that we all know, as a code we follow and understand. Well, I have news. There is no Common Sense and to demonstrate this I have added the...

Would you still walk the Camino if you could not access the Internet ?

With bills to pay and family and friends that worry about me back home when I’m away, I would take advantage of technology every way I can. Is actually this Technology that allows most of us to be free to go away and continue to run our lives at home via wifi, impressive when you think of it...
