The poster seems merely to express a sense of puzzlement. I think you may have inferred that they were making a judgment of people as bad for not liking the film but it wasn’t, I believe, implied.
An interesting read for the upcoming tempoarda.

I am assuming that you are visiting SS before doing the Camino Frances as you say you are travelling to Saint Jean after. Maybe you could bring the “right”clothing to SS. When you are leaving for St Jean forward them to Ivar and you can pick them up when you get to Santiago.
Having read of the practice among pilgrims of many traditions of shaving their heads I decided to follow suit. I also decided to forgo the razor. On arrival in Santiago I was in need of a shave and even a tidy up of the tonsure! The hot towel shave at O Barbeiro -Barbería on Rúa do Hórreo was...
On the Sanabres going up Alto de A Canda I met a garduña coming down the path towards me seemingly oblivious to my presence. Just as I was thinking how “Life on Earth” it all was, imaging Attenborough’s dulcet tones narrating the moment, there was an imperceptible shadow above the trail and the...
Enjoyed the humor, but, humor aside, Thoreau's laundry has been a topic of serious discussion. See, the short essay, linked here:
I am glad you saw the humour. I have plenty of time for the transcendentalists in particular their ideas on intuition. No one likes to think their idiols have feet...
In Walden he wrote that he wanted “to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms.” All the while having his mother do his laundry! 😀
We live in an age of inflation in all things. What was once a cold is very often referred to as flu despite the absence of symptoms beyond feeling poorly. In much the same way walking has become hiking despite the absence of real obstacles. For me hiking involves challenging terrain where a map...
Lessons learnt on my first (hopefully not last) Camino.
1: Take it easy day one (two and three also not a bad idea). 40 kms on the first day in searing heat was a recipe for disaster.
2: Don’t pack your fears but if you do you can always donate/gift the extra pair of gaiters that you didn’t...
As one of the “both of you” I would point out my comment was in reply to an observation, by a compatriot of yours, that low alcohol beer was sometimes called “near beer”. The addition of the laughing emoji obviously did not sufficiently convey the humour that was intended by the remark.
As for...
The Albergue at A Laxe on the Sanabres is notorious for its mosquitos. The comments on Gronze are a testament to many sleepless nights. The night I stayed there I was fortunate that another pilgrim kindly shared some repellent. I used the paper sheet as a mosquito net over me and managed to...
The municipal Albergue in Xunqueira de Ambia on the Camino Sanabrés has a large perspex transom light above the door of both dormitories with motion sensor lights in the hallway. There is no escape!
I have always enjoyed solo hiking but 3 or 4 day trips are not the same as the Camino. About six months before leaving I was given a copy of
The Art of Pilgrimage: The Seeker's Guide to Making Travel Sacred by Phil Cousineau. It helped me in giving my desire to walk the Camino some context...
Reading some posts on the theme of numbers on the CF I saw many suggestions to stay off stage. I assumed this meant stopping before or continuing onward from the towns at the beginning and end of stages on apps like Gronze etc. In my own case the only time I stayed completely off the Via de La...
