A menu Peregrino at 7 pm and as much vino tinto as came with it.
Just a coffee in the mit big. A piece of tortilla patata around 10 am (so 15 hours after the meal). No lunch.
Thanks LavanyaLea! I would love to hear of your experiences after your upcoming camino.
Your tips and info sources are most helpful! Thank you for taking the time to write all that down.
I had been thinking of transportation to Spain and back too (from Germany). Driving by car and leaving the...
Money or time don’t have anything to do with it. My dog has changed owners twice already, and I don’t want to stress him more by making him live with someone else while I am gone.
My question here was to get experiences from others who have walked with their dogs. Not to have a moral discussion...
Thank you, that is helpful!
I won’t have a schedule at all in that sense, because I am not time constrained . However I am assuming that I will have fixed destinations each day, because I would have to book dog friendly accommodation in advance instead of hoping to find it.
My dog is not...
I am looking for pilgrims who have walked the Camino Frances with their dog.
I have walked the Camino from StJPdP to Santiago and Finisterre 4 times and know the way very well. Next time am thinking of taking my dog with me, because I can’t leave him at home. He is a Labrador, very friendly...
I arrived in Santiago for the 7th time two weeks ago.
- twice I was walking with my 20y old daughter, and we were happy to reach Santiago. It wasn’t over, because we were walking on to Muxía and Finisterre.
- 4 times I walked solo the entire way and reached solo. There was a sense of...
Haha ... well it if course depends on some factors...
- How long / far do you walk per day (steps)
- How much do you consume per day
- What was you weight and physical shape at the start (from skeleton to balloon)
I average about 35000 steps / 28 km per day, and burn about 3300 calories doing...
Weight.
On my first Camino Frances in 2016, I lost 10 kg, which luckily I regained only partially during the months that followed.
Since then, I have walked the Frances another three times and the Portuguese + Ingles + Finisterre, and each time lost 5-6 kg which I regained within a year - and...
I walked the Camino France a few weeks back. Two of the (nice) albergues which I stayed in had a “For Sale” sign up.

I have been a member in this forum since close to three years, and have walked the Camino Frances twice, the Portuguese from Lisbon, the Ingles, and to Muxia and Finisterre twice.
How do I get past being a “New Member?” :-)
Just wondering ... though it doesn’t really matter...
On my first Camino Frances + Muxia + Finisterre of 37 days, I lost about 10 kg. That was 2 years back and the lost sheep are all back. So at the moment I am walking the Camino Portuguese (from Öisbon) and the Ingles and Muxia/Finisterre and hope to get rid of the sheep again.
I am planning to do my first Camino Frances (and first ever trek longer than 3 days) in Sept/Oct too - probably starting around Sept 15th from StJPdP.
Thanks for the experiences on Sept/Oct weather of previous years... seems I have picked the right stuff, to cover anything from very warm and...
