Registering as a group: individual certificates or one per group?

If you all have smartphones it's best to register online as individuals to speed process up and when you've done that you automatically receive a QR code. You will all get the Compostela but you all have to go to Office and to gain entry you all have to show the QR codes. If you don't register...

I arrived in Santiago and didn't see a single pilgrim.

So nothing's changed since I did it in June 2017 then !

    Bed bugs in El Acebo!

I would go to Local Health Centre asap to see the Doctor. They will give you an injection (normally your buttock) to combat your allergic reaction,an antihistamine. They will also prescribe a tablet to take every day for 3 days. That way your skin will recover quicker.

    Tour Company Suggestions

I've worked with quite a number of them. They have much greater purchasing power so get the best accommodation rates that they can pass on to you. They also provide alot of resources and info to help you plan well for your Camino including videos, podcasts guides etc. They can arrange for...

Lines for the Compostela and Certificate for Distance

Agreed you can do it the paper way but it's easier the digital way for vast majority. Yes I agree that they have a beautiful waiting area below that's probably underused. However, my experience with the Security Guards is they don't let anyone inside without showing code or form. I've seen two...

Lines for the Compostela and Certificate for Distance

I was in Pilgrim Office yesterday. You show them your code (you register online in advance). When they let you enter you take a ticket from machine. You then wait next to screen for your number. It took only 15 minutes wait then bingo!

    Pulpo in Melide

I was in Garnacha in October 2021 with group of pilgrims and it was superb. Not only the food and cunca of Ribeiro wine but the service is excellent. The best place to eat in Melide besides Garnacha (and it is better than Garnacha) is Casa Alongos just before Garnacha on Camino to your right...

    So, the Camino Digital Credential

It's not in the slightest worth purchasing! It's virtually impossible to find an establishment which is utilising it. The APP itself doesn't even have a list of them so you'll be finishing each stage of your Camino running around trying to find someone who has the code sysyem to no avail. I...

    Digital credential

I paid for mine recently but couldn't easily find a place with QR Code. There's few places on Camino where you can find one. I asked lots of established, pilgrim friendly hotels, hostals etc but none have it yet so I gave up. They won't even let you change start date as I hadn't used it so I...

    Historical Importance of Ribeiro Wine

Yes there are some fine mencia wines especially from D.O. Ribeira Sacra, Valdeorras & Monterrei in Galicia and in Bierzo too normally oak matured there at higher altitudes. We also cultivate the mencia grape in Ribeiro. In fact, this year the Spanish Wine Tasters Union awarded the winery Mónica...

    Historical Importance of Ribeiro Wine

I thought I'd share a couple of Blog Post's especially for my British and American friends who like history and wine as it's about Ribeiro wines. See https://englishresourcecentre.com/en/the-ancient-exportation-of-ribeiro-wine-ribadavia-to-great-britain/...

Birds & Insects on the Camino

I live close to a private woodland owned by a local association whose aim is to protect and recuperate the woodlands in the area in the heart of Ribeiro. The Caminos Miñoto do Ribeiro and the Caminho da Geira e dos Arrieiros passes it the stage after Ribadavia when you pass Beade on way to...

    Pollution in Galicia

Having lived on the coast of Galicia for the last 8 years I can say the costal air is clean & pure : you can tell the difference..there's no industry here..I assume there are a few hotspots in temporal times . But another factor is that in the interior like in Oursense & Lugo province's there's...
