There was rarely machines and if there was they were always busy. I used a scrubba and soap chips. Its fast easy and u can keep your sweaty dirty clothes in it wheu aren't using it. Great piece of equipment
I have done both. The norte is more physically challenging and some of the distances between albergues are long. I was there in the summer and it was quite crowded. Not on the trails but in the albergues. We had too get hotel rooms a few times. Some people were leaving at 4 am to beat the rush...
