For reference I am nearly 70 and have gone on Camino every year for 7 years. Like others, I still haven't found the joy of a walking routine at home.
Mental fortitude is the part of physical training that (I believe) is overlooked. So lest you worry that I don't train, I do walk in preparation...
On my late fall Caminos I often hear hunters' guns on Sundays especially. Last fall this darling little dog ditched her hunting party and walked with me for about a half an hour. I'm not sure how this relates to the conversation but I thought I'd share my little "Daisy" with you.
It's a misconception that staying at places in between the usual stops will alleviate the problem of finding a bed. During one of my Caminos I had to adjust back to the usual stops as many pilgrims were following the in between strategy. Problem solved for me : )
Maybe this is WAY too personal, but hey, the topic of using nature's facilities has been ALMOST thoroughly discussed...I wear a panty liner to help me feel fresh without dealing with toilet paper. And by the way, they also help when hiking gets hot and sticky. I can't be the only one who has...

A "Procession...
Oh, my, sacrificing your morning cafe just because of a potty stop???!!!!! Never a good trade-off in my book. Late last fall on the Sanabres my sister and I did not get a cup until 2:30 in the afternoon - now THAT was the BEST cuppa EVER!!!
Oh!!! If only there were as clear markers along the path of BEING home as there are to walk the Camino!!!
I'm wondering how some of you are Camino Angels, as Dave and Michelle suggested, for those in need here???
One day, feeling particularly homesick for the Camino, I was given an entirely new thought…here I am wishing I were there and, guess what? There is someone right this very minute is making their Camino who could probably use a little encouragement. So instead of being stuck remembering and...
