I'm sorry, I didn't walk the road to San Martín that you're planning to walk. But I think I'd prefer it: the alternative through Villar de Mazarife is so much nicer than the one along the N-120. If the small church in Villar de Mararife is open, don't forget to take a look inside!
When you walk...
Walked up to O Cebreiro in 2011 and 2014, both times taking the trail. Very doable.
It's good to hear it's still raining: thankfully some things never change...
Day 1: Sarria to Puente la Reina
This stage runs from West to East: about 564 km. It's gonna be a long day.
Day 2: Puente la Reina to Belorado
Right direction: from East to West, 137 km. Still a long day.
Day 3: Belorado to Arcas de Valdespina
This runs from East to West. Sounds good, only...
Jeanine is right: no need to worry. Orrisson is indeed a bottleneck on the first stage out of St. Jean (considering the small amount of beds they have).
You could make it to the big albergue in Roncesvalles in one day. Or, take the other route to Roncesvalles: through Valcarlos...

Katharina might be right (assuming that that is what happened): there's nothing wrong with using Booking.com. Just don't rely on it as your only source of information....
Hi Alice,

But I read, write and speak (a kind of) English anyway. And that's the case for a lot of pilgrims!!! In fact, they represent the majority.

Hi Monica,
First of all: buen Camino!
Maybe it won’t be too crowded between Sarria and SdC at this not-quite-past-COVID moment. But, depending on how much time you’ve got, there are a few options:
In Léon, switch to the Camino Salvador, to Oviedo. In Oviedo, continue on the Camino Primitivo...
I sure hope that you'll be able to enjoy your Camino, even with all these restrictions (not being followed).
I hope good things will be coming your way.
My first Camino, I came prepared. I had heard about the 'custom' to carry a stone and leave it at Cruz de Ferro and it appealed to me. I had my reasons to leave a stone...
During one of my walks in Holland I just picked up a stone that was lying in the sand beside the path. At home I had this...
O yes, I've got plans to walk another Camino in June/July. Just I had made plans to walk it last year.
There's nothing wrong with planning/dreaming.
It's only that I'm making sure I'm flexible enough to call it off.
