Disparities between Wise Pilgrim and Brierley distances

I like this response. There are so many variables along the way it really doesn’t matter. I finished my Camino in April 2018. The SDC pilgrim office credited me with 799km. I offered to walk another km but it wouldn’t have made any difference

When do most pilgrims feel like quitting the Camino de Santiago?

Hi. You raise a very interesting question. On my Camino in 2018 I experienced a physical problem which was compounded by reasonably heavy snow. It was day 2 out of SJPDP. It occurred to me that my Camino was over but this was overcome by the urge to continue and the fact that too many people...

    Easter Advice

Absolutely agree. Burgos at Easter 2018 was a highlight of my Camino. I had the great fortune to meet a pilgrim on the way from Burgos and we were out every night at the parades. He invited me to stay at his central city apartment and we had a ball.

    St. Jean to Burgos

Hi. I passed thru Burgos at Easter 3 years ago and stayed with a fellow pilgrim I met along the way who was from Burgos. Had a fantastic time at the Easter parades. Never seen anything like that anywhere else in the world. And boy, can the locals play. Worth timing your Camino to be there for...

    Burgos

I absolutely loved Burgos when I passed through there at Easter 2018. A pilgrim I met lived in Burgos and invited me to stay at his home. We had a magic time - Burgos is famous for its Easter parades and afterwards, boy can the locals play!!!

It’s a fantastic tune which has been around for a while now. once it’s in your head it’s there forever. He put an album out late last year - called Duende. Dan,s a great guy. I did a podcast of my Camino SF with him two years ago.

    “Cheating”

Wow, this topic has taken off! I must admit I was a little miffed encountered pilgrims who were bussing across the Meseta or joining for the last 100km. Bit then I remembered the Camino is very much a personal thing. How you complete your Camino is very much up to you. As long as you meet the...

Roncesvalles... is just not for me

Hi I feel I have to speak up. I started from SJPdP on 20Mar 2018 and was one of those caught in the heavy snow on my first day. The top track was closed due snow and we had to come via the alternate route. I arrived at Roncesvalles late afternoon cold, wet and hungry. It was my first night on...

LIVE from the Camino Camino Frances

Hi. I’m very grateful for your post. I will be starting my Camino from SJPdP on 18 March and was a little concerned after seeing those weather reports on UK and Europe. I don’t mind the rain but have a natural aversion to walking in snow. All the best for your journey. Bush Camino Wayne Singleton
