Hi Nancy, when do you start?
We are starting in Burgos on July 8th and walking to Sarria then bussing it to Santiago, we are working backwards as we started in Sarria last year and ended in Santiago so already have our Compostella.
Debbie & Theresa
O Acivro was lovely, they even have a swimming pool! We stayed in the old original building rather than the apartments. Huge oldy worldy room with oak beams, wooden shutters looking over the trail. Our bed was huge...!!!!
Casa Garcia in Gonzar-converted farm buildings behind Bar Gonzar, they have an Albergue plus private rooms, beautiful..!!! Plus after the long hike up from Portomarin you'll appreciate it..!
I am shortly due to become a Cleanagrino, I will happily share my shower gel and deodorant with anyone who would like some as I believe that my journey, short tho it may be will be all the cleansing I require, hey, I may even throw in a fresh t shirt..!
Keep going Derwen, we leave Sarria on 23rd, if we meet I'd be happy to walk a few k,s with you... My sons name is Rhys, I haven't seen him for 3 years, I guess he's taking his own path.. keep listening and absorbing what's around you, Buen camino..!
The monastery also issue pilgrim passports so I think you'll be ok. You can pick up sellas or pilgrim stamps from lots of places along the way, churches, cafés, bars, hostels.. We leave Sarria on 23 July. Buen Camino..!!!!
Hi all, am doing the entire Camino next year but couldn't wait so am off to start in Sarria in July, am staying at the Monestario de Magdelena and have no clue where the trail starts. Will the Brierley guide tell me or will I easily find a way marker..?
