I have been on the Camino since SJPP until now at Carrion de los Condes. I have yet to be in an albergue which was even filled up to the 50% of the beds they are using now. Be aware Spain’s numbers are worsening, so I suppose another lockdown or some other restrictions are possible. I’m not...
I’m on the Camino now. The Frances. I’m currently in Viana. I’m not booking and I’m not having any problems. The albergues are at 50% or so. Basically the top bunks are not being used, unless there a couple or related group.
The bus driver announced on are bus that she was required to tell us the a PCR test is required to enter France. About half the people got off the bus. I didn’t got to SJPP went to the Pilgrim’s Office, got my credential, went to the Albergue, next day went to Orrison which is still in France...
Have you tried just +1 area code and the seven digits. You don’t need a 0 anywhere at the beginning, just + I think that is relatively new. I see to remember some years ago it was 0 or 00 then the area code and number.
I agree. I can't remember booking on the Camino. This year I was going to, but couldn't because the rules kept changing. I think maybe the lesson here is don't book and have a traditional Camino experience. I have never booked and never been without na bed. Maybe it will be different this year...
When I judge others it hurts me more than them. I know this, because I have judged. It is unkind. It doesn't make me better than someone. It reduces me.
There is also an app called AlertCops it is run by the Spanish Ministry. You download it and register with it. Then if you have an emergency of any type in Spain you click it. Someone responds immediately in your language, has located you through gps and asks what is the problem. It works. I did...

I mark my poles by wrapping a bit of pattern or colorful duct tape around them. Last year mine were stolen by two women in broad daylight outside while we were having café, Good news is that we were sitting having café the next day when the woman walked up with them. It was a delicate situation...
I have had a similar experience. I'm walking my fifth Camino this year. I've had back problems for years and have arthritis all down my spine. My back doesn't bother on the Camino. I've discussed this with my back doctor, my chiropractor and my massage therapist. The two ideas that emerged is...
I began last year 2012 in St Jean on July 23 and walked through August. I only ran in to one albergue that was full, but there was another one open close by. Other than that, there was always a bed for me when I stopped. In a couple of places there were only a few of us in the albergue.
As to...
Does anyone have an address for the Albergue run by the Spanish Confraternity in Santa Domingo de la Calzada or know where I can find the address? It is a wonderful albergue by the way. :)
I had to take a rest because of my knee and a fellow pilgrim told me about this Hostel. It opened mid July 2012. It is really nice with great facilities. The name is Hostel Entresueños. It's on C/Portales next to the cathedral. 941-271-334 info@hostellogrono.com or check it out...
Can anyone tell me what the procedure is? The one in Roncevalles requires a wire transfer, is this the procedure for Orisson as well? I'm kind of stumped because I won't know the date for Roncevalles until I find out if there is a place to stay one night in Orisson.
