Best Unique and Comfortable Albergues on the Camino Francés with Communal Experiences

I'll go with the first one that came to mind: Albergue Monte Irago in Foncebadón. It wasn't the building or beds, rather the vibe of the place. Some might even call it a "hippy vibe." It was staffed by young people from all over who wanted very much to give an authentic communal experience...

Sarria - Is a stop over worth it?

Read through all the comments above and, once again, was amazed at how some folks can be verbally aggressive/bordering on insulting with others they've never met in person. On Camino--you know, that shared/desired, beautiful, humbling experience that brings us to this place--it's highly...

Sarria - Is a stop over worth it?

I didn't know about Casa Barbadelo until I stopped there for coffee and snack after leaving Sarria for Portomarín. Seemed like a great place & made a mental note then that should I walk the CF again, I would have a reservation to stay there rather than Sarria.

Help with identification of a monument on the CF

Thank you all for your help, especially Kathar1na. From the search based on her recommendation above, I read several articles. One link circled back to a thread here in 2017, in which Kathar1na was the source of knowledge then as well...

Help with identification of a monument on the CF

Asking for some help to identify a monument between beside the road from Agés to Atapuerca at the intersection of the road most pilgrims walk (BU-V-7012) and Camino de Fresno de Rodilla. I've done a google search to no avail (most likely because of my limited search terms). Posted below are a...

LIVE from the Camino The Camino Needs You.

Just wondering if your reply was purposefully pedantic and/or grouchy... It's fairly easy to tell what the OP meant in his post.

People w/ Parkinson's on the CF

No. Some unexpected life circumstances came up that prevented me from actively recruiting folks. I would still love to do so in the future, but it looks like the earliest it could be is 2023.

    Walking after knee replacements

A word of thanks to those who wrote about their personal experiences/Camino with knee replacements in this thread; it is an encouragement to me. I appreciate the wisdom re: rehab, and I agree (I have learned to enjoy the challenge of rehab). After exhausting all other options (OTC pain meds...

New Camino docu on YT by a Triple Crown hiker

The transformation I referred to was that of the younger sister. At 19 yrs-old, it seemed like she was walking Camino to please her sister, but by the end, she was enjoying the journey and didn't want it to end.

Italics or not? A question of style.

@JohnLloyd I wish you the best writing your book, and it looks like you've gotten some good advice in the responses. I'm working on my next book, this time a novel, and there's a lot of dialogue where both French and Spanish are intermingled with English in the same sentences (I've encountered...

New Camino docu on YT by a Triple Crown hiker

A person who has hiked the three major long-distance trails in the U.S. (the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail). Current estimates show that only 600 people in the world have completed the Triple Crown. One thing I appreciated about the documentary was...

New Camino docu on YT by a Triple Crown hiker

That was fun. Love seeing the Camino through another's eyes and to see transformation over the course of the journey. Brings back lots of memories, which are even more special as we face current circumstances. Having lived in Alabama for 12 yrs of my life, it was fun to hear the southern accent...

Talking about work while on the Camino

The "this is what I love to do" angle is great and works best for me. Although my career was technical in nature, my passion and natural talent is carpentry. If I come across another woodworker, then we are likely to have a great conversation.
