I walked the Camino Frances between April 28 - June 5, 2022, and I chose that time of year because of the very reason about which you inquire. It was gorgeous. Everything was in bloom, and I fell in love with the Flanders poppies! One caution, though... the competition for beds was fierce...
I left SJPdP at the end of April and arrived in Santiago on June 5, 2022. Quite busy the whole way. In particular, the segment from Sarria to Santiago was nuts. Easily three times as many people, overnight.
From one who had major foot problems on my Camino last year, ultimate respect, Gentlemen!! Amazing accomplishments, all. Just curious, Tiger Mike, what kind of shoes did you wear for this marathon event? I'm sort of assuming you wore no shoes at all, but rather had wings on your feet!

Unfortunately, bad things can happen to good people anywhere, at any time, even on the Camino. There really is no "safe" place anywhere, but it is particularly sad and egregious when it happens to someone so vulnerable. What a cowardly thing to do! I'm glad the perpetrator was apprehended...
I began my Camino Frances in SJdPP on April 30th of this year and finished in Santiago de Compostela on June 5th. I chose that time of year specifically because I hoped to take advantage of the Springtime floral display, and I was not disappointed! The Flanders poppies always brought a smile...
Congratulations, Mananath! I completed my first Camino the first week in June, so I can definitely identify with your emotions at the end of the journey! I, too, had foot issues, so double congrats!!
