As you can see, the opinions on this question are all over the place. I think your age, weight and fitness level are all important variables. I'd say that if you are 45 or older and carrying some extra weight, then definitely take poles to take pressure off of your knees on descents. There...

Hi All,
The weather is beautiful and hot. I haven´t been staying at albergues, but I met a Spaniard who was ending his camino because the ¨race for beds¨ was so distasteful for him. He said the albergues were full by about 4 PM. But this is second-hand information.
I´ve blogged about my...
Hi All,
It´´s a gorgeous day here. There were over 100 people at the Pilgrim´s Mass.
I´´ll be blogging at http://www.janetscamino2010.blogspot.com. Hope I got that right. The punctuation of the link might be wrong.

Thank you so much for your post. I leave in 10 days for Spain, and start walking from Roncesvalles two weeks from today. As a result of hearing how cold it is, I've decided to take my down vest after all. I had thought it was silly to take something like that to Spain in the summer. How...
Wait a minute. It's May 4 (now May 5th in Spain) and it's snowing?! Am I misunderstanding something? I can't believe this. Please clarify where and when these photos were taken.

I have looked in vain online for double adapters which allow you to plug in a couple to things into one outlet. Since I'm an American, I'm looking for the US-European version. Since sockets are at a preium, this seems like such a great idea. Does anyone have a link?

I'm taking the train from Madrid to Pamplona. There are a few each day. I'm taking one at 3 PM, which gets in at 6:30, half an hour after the once a day bus to Roncevalles. So I'll go the next day.

In choosing whether to work with a travel guide or book your own lodging, I have learned from three months of experience that it's important to know yourself, What kind of traveler are you?
If you are independent and don't like the idea of pre-payment or having the guides fees wrapped into a...
I suggest you take a look at the following listing of all the guides who can help with arrangements.

I have worked with a Camino guide to get reservations for lodging, since I'm not planning on staying in refugios. Understandably, some require prepayment. This becomes difficult when they don't take credit cards, I am reluctant to do bank transfers, and I'm wondering how Pay Pal could become...
I want to thank Sillydoll very much for her listing of resources on her blog AMAWALKER. I,too, want to avoid uncertainty about getting food, a good night's rest and a shower. I reviewed what Sillydoll had on her blog, and have chosen to work with Garry of Spanish Adventures, who is helping me...
