20 DAYS until PARIS
25 DAYS until ST JEAN
and the beginning of my Camino
I am profoundly excited. I love taking photos (not professionally!) of my adventures. While I plan to be mostly disconnected during this trip I will be snapping tons of photos and uploading occasionally. I'd love for some...
Hi Lisa & Hanne! I'll be starting from SJPdP on the 15th so I may run into you during Holy Week! Lots of lovely things going on I'm sure...looking forward to it! Buen Camino!
Hi Sue! I will be setting out in March too, the 15th from SJPdP. Thanks for starting this thread, some good info here! Maybe I'll see you along the way -
Buen Camino!
I gave ponchos a go but they don't work for me personally. I love my Marmot PreCip ( http://marmot.com/products/details/precip-jacket-new ) along with my pack cover and interior lined with a trash compactor bag (just in case). Arc'teryx has awesome rain gear but they are not cheap at all (I've...
I will have a day in Santiago. I hope to have some extra time - I don't want to over plan but I'm pretty fast so I hope to have some wiggle room beyond the few extra days I have blocked out for resting & exploration. I appreciate all the info everyone!
Thank you for all your feedback! I don't want to plan too much but wanted to have a place to stay at the end of my journey.
Much appreciated! I'm so ready to go...only 59 days...but who's counting?!
Hi all! Hoping for some feedback from the group on this...I am walking the Camino Frances in March/April this year and should be in Santiago by April 17 and then I've got two days to relax (travelling by bus) in Muxia or Finisterre. Trying to decide where I should relax for those last two days...
Hi Karry- I agree with some posts above about being ready for every kind of weather with layers! I am leaving SJPDP on March 15th, maybe we could meet up along the way :)
Hi Steve! I am starting from SJPDP on March 15 2016. I am staying in a lovely AIRBNB https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7892798
It is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute drive to town. She picks you up at the station and gives you a ride out in the morning if you'd like. Not to mention it looks quite lovely...
I did know there are fewer accommodations available but I've been told it shouldn't be a issue. I'll be walking big miles everyday but I'm flexible about where I stay so I'm not worried :)
Oof. I am leaving mid-March...one reason was to avoid the crowds and another because I prefer hiking in cooler weather. Sounds like it might get a bit crazy. I planned to do a rest day in Burgos but I would land there on Easter. I think I may go ahead and book an Airbnb to be on the safe side...
Hi Angelhart! I am starting my first Camino in March as well! I'm over here on the other coast in Boston. I've read that lunch options are pretty easy...this forum is super helpful for organizing logistics! Maybe we can meet up along the way, I'm travelling solo so it will be nice to know some...
I am doing the Francés and planned to walk the majority of the way but thought about biking a bit. A few people have recommended Bikeiberia to pick up along the way and ride for a few days then drop off. I'm just curious if there are large expanses of more paved/urban/industrial spots that may...
I'm looking into biking for a few days along the way and wondering if there is a particularly large stretch of city/paved area that isn't the most lovely walk that you would recommend biking through. Thanks!
