same here... and everytime I get to Iratche the fountain is broken, no wine, should that be a sign to stop drinking or just another reason to walk the camino again?
I met many people not drinking anything at all, and we still had great evenings together, so alcohol or not is no real issue on the...
Hi Patricio,
there are some albergues which open after Easter, but I've been walking the Frances a few times in March/ April, and I never had a problem with finding a bed. You normally can check with the hospitaleros if the albergues on your next stage are open.

I think they open at 2pm. As with all the albergues, it's a first come first served.
I'm not to sure if you are familiar with the concept... you have to be back by 10pm, they will lock the door after that. You will sleep in a dorm with about 50 others, in bunk beds, although they are separated...
it is an official albergue, you can not book! just turn up and get a bed.

I stayed there; it was a great evening with a doctor from Madrid explaining me the Kabala. But yes, it's very basic. No showers, only cold water from the fountain outside, and you slep on some boards which are more or less loosely just above the main room. There were some foam pieces, not really...
With Ivar's poll about albergues I remembered that I always wanted to find out what happened to Roland and his albergue in Azofra.
In 2002, we walked together for a few days until Belorado, he then had to go back to organize the builders.
When some friends came through Azofra last May they...
yes, San Saturnino/Ventosa. I got lost that day as well, it started raining, I had a terrible pain in the knee... and then I got to this place and all was part of the bigger picture; and the next day I was like another person!
