    Ankle Issue Camino done

Holy smokes! Just saw you’re from San Diego. We moved from Coronado to Freeport, ME in 2012. You can probably see the claw marks on the bridge as we left!!

    Ankle Issue Camino done

I ended up in Tomar in early ‘19 with a visit to the ER. Wonderful folks. They delivered the news that I knew they would. My toes were trashed and hematomas under my big toenails made it impossible to wear closed toed shoes. I was headed home the day after my ER visit. I returned in...

I’d be game as long as the wind isn’t howling!

    Wonderful camino mural near Coimbra

Agree! It’s massive and stunning. The work of two women. I took a video of it, but it appears it’s too large to post here! It was the highlight of that walking day.

    Porto - Santiago - Finisterre

Casa Fernanda is a wonderful experience. The communal meal was the especially special. Hallelujah was sung prior to dinner with everyone holding hands up high. Very moving. Fernanda and Jacinto are dedicated and attentive hosts.

If You Only Had Time To Spend In One City: Porto vs. Lisbon

I believe you are referring to the Sao Bento Train Station, and you are right, the tiles are something else! The Passenger Hostel is just inside the train station and was superb! Triple decker bunks that were very private, complete with lights and small fans. Bathroom was great, and the meal...

Blue Arrows (Fatima route) on Portuguese Camino

I am currently in Redondela and the blue arrows have been ever present since Porto, and they were well marked south of Porto. You should have absolutely no problem. Buen camino!

    Exciting route Portuguese

You are wonderful for responding so promptly. I thank you sincerely for allaying my concerns about the Compostela/boat ride. I am like you...love the stamps. They create the "memory archive" of the place I had a bite to eat or a place where my body, soul and head rested for the night. For...

    Exciting route Portuguese

Albertinoh, greetings! I turn to you wise sage on all things "Portuguese." A fellow trekker shared this week that if one decides to walk from Porto to Santiago via the coastal route...takes a ferry from Caminha to A Pasaxe across the river (at least that looks like the course in Brierley's book...

    5 days of camino

I agree with Rich1. The walk from Santiago to Muxia via Cee and Finisterre was the most special time for me. I found myself feeling emotional and anxious once in Santiago. I believe it was the culmination of something I thoroughly loved being a part of which created the emotional feelings...
