From Madrid chanmartin station .. you can just take a train to Leon -stay the night and explore the city and then walk from Leon to Santiago -it's about two weeks -give or take a day or two . Camino Frances has got really good infrastructure -lots of albergues , hotels. , bars , places to stop...

I'm not sure if i have added my 2018 date to the Calendar properly ? If not , at least i have now set my intentions for 2018 -I'll start walking from Sahugun or Bercianos around 23 September to Santiago . Looking forward to it . :)
I have bought my plane tickets from Melbourne to Madrid - arrive Spain 22 September - I will stay in a Pension in Madrid then get a train to Sahagun and hopefully walk from there to Santiago and if all is well -maybe continue onto Muxia and then return via Finisterre . I'll see how it goes .
