In EU we have an insurance card. Private insurance document (paper and photo) should be with you if you have that. Finally, insurance can be sorted out AFTER medical help is rendered in case of emergency. After all, insurance is just dealing with money.
In just two days I'll start walking for a winter camino. My entire pack is 30L. If I lose the sleeping bag and a few winter-specific items, I can fit all of it in 20L.

According to my plan I'll be on the last stretch of the camino at that time. My ETA in Santiago is around the Feb 16 you and after that I'll go to Finisterre or A Coruna, or somewhere else.
I want it to be sparse, but I want to feel that Camino spirit too. And talking to awesome people seems like a great ending for a day of walking through snow and rain.
