My sister and I are in the same boat, thanks to Vueling cancelling a nonstop from SCQ to Paris that was scheduled to depart late morning when I purchased it, and replacing it with flights going through Barcelona with the first leg departing SCQ at 6:45 AM. I was also agreeing with the response...
I sort of agree. I am not due to be there until May 23rd. who knows what will or won't be in place by then. Planning on playing it by ear if still an issue by then. Can skip France and remain in Spain, or venture forward and see what could or couldn't be available.
Just when I thought that the French train strike was over, it seems that there is a general strike of sorts in France ...and with warnings about possible violence having been issued by US Embassy. Many services affected...
Thank you so much for that info! (and also the Trainline app). I’ve reached the point of calm now that I know that trains will be available- just need to be patient about it since I arranged my schedule as such that I need to travel on a holiday weekend.
The people on this site are among the...
In checking into this further, it seems that not all train schedules for the dates I need are currently published.
From an article on "Connextion" (which gives French news in English) regarding train schedules and ability to purchase tickets for departures from 27 March 2023 to 31 May 2023:
Not...
Yes, I'm planning a multi-day stop in Bordeaux with my sister before involving myself with other plans. I signed up for alerts on when train schedules would be available.
Wish I were that fortunate-- I am trying to book 2 tickets (2 seniors) for train leaving Paris to Bordeaux, St.-Jean station on Sunday, May 27th late morning on sncf site and was not successful. Looked on Rome2Rio site and gave several possibilities, ad when you click on it, it comes up with a...
Bev,
I just did this same route in early May, this year. The buses from Braga arrive at the main bus station in Vigo. I came in on a late Saturday afternoon and a manned window for the local buses was still open. Buses are more frequently than hourly. If the window is closed, I'm sure that...
...the ALSA bus from Burgos to Leon makes several stops. I used it many years ago, and it had stops at most of the major towns between Burgos and Leon, notably Carrion, Fromista, & Sahagun. Check ALSA's schedule for that route. Buen Camino.
Sirron-- see my modified post-- RER line is being modernized and will have intermittent shut-downs and disruptions of services for several more years! See airport website for guidance on this. Surface transport is available but will eat up much more time!
****JUST LEARNED THAT THE RER B LINE IS SUBJECT TO DISRUPTION DUE TO MODERNIZATION AND CONSTRUCTION ON THAT LINE. STARTED AT LEAST 2 TO 3 MONTHS AGO FROM WHAT I'VE READ AND AND WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE INTERMITTENT DISRUPTIONS UNTIL THE YEAR 2025!!!
Currently, the CDG airport site is giving...
Buses run from Madrid to Burgos several times per day. I think the carrier is ALSA and they have a website. The local bus (leaving from the same bus station as where ALSA would be arriving) runs from Burgos to Logrono right along the camino route for the most part. Rome2Rior often doesn't...
Yes, the TGV from Hendaye to Bayonne runs year round. Tracks are not usually hampered by any snowpack.
I did experience some problems in that area (I was going to Lourdes that year instead of SJPDP) when a river with proximity to the tracks overran its banks due to sudden snow pack melt. That...
I did! Same run around and both they and Iberia are puppeting to wait 3 days prior to the flight...I just don't have much faith that anything much will come of it then, either.😐
I had similar experience with EXPEDIA for flight on TAP from Rome to LIS. (I was going to meet with family in Italy...
I used the bus from the airport to the city of Lugo, and took another bus from Lugo to Sarria. Don’t know how late buses keep running, but I do know that there are several inexpensive hotels near that airport. You all could get a room(s) if need be and start out the next morning through Lugo...
I agree that the passanger would be fine. Also, if one booked directly with the airline instead of going through a travel agency, I would call the customer service section if the airlines directly. Iberia has a service for its U.S. citizen customers and they are nice to deal with, and could...
I did the very same thing in early June 2014 with exception of taking the RER B line directly from CDG airport and getting off at Montparnasse. I believe I took a 9 or 10 am train from there to Bayonne and then transferred to a SNCF shuttle to SJPDP at around 7:30 p.m. (the train company...
