I've abused backpack's on Camino's over the years. I've never had an issue like this. What brand of pack is it, if I may ask? One strap maybe but for both straps to rip from the seam sounds more like a manufacturing problem. Hope you make out better on your Camino.
Why do so many people want to skip the Meseta? I never understood this. I understand time restraints but....two separate times we've gone just to walk the Meseta. Only place I've ever been where you could walk and hear nothing.
If you are of a retired age on the US, medicare will cover 80% of health care if needed. Never was concerned, perhaps I should have been. With that said I haven't a clue to a good provider.
We've flown into Dublin with one way tickets and the a cheap commercial flight into Paris and never had an issue. But I'm not sure I can answer that definitely.
I would suggest flying.. ;-)
We've always found it easier to fly into Paris and train to SJPDP. and leave via Madrid. It works for us out of the DC area.
