I always book direct with Renfe for the simple reason they then can contact me in case there is a change to the schedule. On the occasions this has happened, I have advance notice and I am able to rebook ahead of those unfortunate souls who bought from other vendors who are finding out on...
When you select the Tarjeta Dorada ticket option, the website should adjust the fare without a code. They will ask the number of you Tarjeta Dorada somewhere in the process.
I just looked at the time tables section on the Renfe website and the route disappears after Sept. 29th. Before the 29th, it is only offering the morning train weekdays.
I am hoping this is only temporary and that they are upgrading the service to high-speed rail.
I done the trip multiple times, so I’m aware of the change of trains. I personally prefer the train over the bus To have more space and the ability to walk around.
The bus is usually a few minutes faster, but with a Tarjeta Dorada the train is about 1/4 of the cost of the bus.
I was looking at tickets between Santiago and Porto and it appears that the line is being discontinued. Has anyone heard anything about this?
I know that Renfe sometimes doesn’t release tickets until a month before departure, but this search isn’t getting the usual message. I see they went down...
One advantage with booking direct on Renfe is that if there is a cancellation of your train, they will send you an email notice. I had this happen last year in Spain and I was easily able to rebook before heading to the train station.
One of the unexplained risks is that if for some reason your first flight is delayed and you miss the second flight you are stuck with no connection Neither airline has any responsibility to you because they are separate bookings. Unless I have a day or more between flights I never consider this...
i always have the items I wouldn’t want to part with packed in a small bag at the top of my backpack so I can quickly pull it out if I need to check the backpack. Thanks for the warning.
I’ve taken the early morning train (currently 06:14) and the transfers in Vigo and Porto were not a problem. Given the length of the trip I finder the train nicer.
It might be possible.
International flights arrive at Terminal 1 which is not very big as you can see if you look on Google Maps.
I looked at the morning arrivals at El Prat and there were only three international arrivals (Doha 6:45, Miami 7:10 and AbuDhabi 7:35) ahead of Singapore Airlines...
You may want to reach out to AirFrance and see if they can come up with a better connecting flight. The computer making the flight change does what’s best for the airline, but you are not required to accept that flight change. I once went from a longer flight with a layover to a non-stop that...
I had the opportunity to take part in the perpetual adoration years ago And found it to be a very memorable experience. Being in the basilica without tourists, and with the mosaics flickering by candle light was a far different experience than the usual visit. In the morning once they unlocked...
Renfe has not yet released the regional train schedules for April from Leon. I see the Alvia from Madrid to Leon is now available for booking, but no regional trains from Leon to Ponferrada are showing up in searches.
