Cool, if you did decide to visit San Sebastián and stay the night, it would make a nice relaxed journey to Bayonne next day.

Returning from Santiago de Compostela to Bayonne - Need Suggestions

I’m in the UK and have often visited San Sebastián. I have always got home by Eurostar on the day i’ve left there. It does require a fairly early start on the Eusktren around 7ish. It’s San Sebastián to Hendaye by Eusktren. Hendaye to Paris by direct train. Metro (or taxi) to Paris gare du...

Is Hostal Navarra in Pamplona Safe to Walk to at Night?

I’ve stayed there. Really liked it, very nice for the price. It’s not even a 3 minute walk from the bus station, unless the light on the pedestrian crossing is against you. I understand your nervousness, but honestly don’t worry. Pamplona is a busy friendly city not a crime ridden ghetto. In...

    Travelling from Biarritz to Pamplona

get yourself to Hendaye (may need to go to Bayonne station, there are many trains to Hendaye from there, Biarritz to Bayonne is easy enough). Walk out of Hendaye station and look right. You will see a little local train service Euskotren. Lots of trains to San Sebastián from there. Then lots...

    train or plane

If you take the early Eurostar to Paris, allow 2 hours to get to Montparnasse, then take the train to Bayonne. You’ll still be able to get the train/bus to SJPDP. If you book early you can get good deals on the Paris Bayonne leg, 1st class good price too. Book Eurostar early for best price...

Or have a day in Paris, get the train from Montparnasse to Bayonne (it’s only a 4 hour train journey). Check the 1st class price, sometimes it’s anout the same as 2nd class. It’s a nice journey.

Go to Montparnasse Bienvenue using the metro or Gare Montparnasse using taxi etc. It’s a big station so allow time to find your departure point. Direct trains to Bayonne from there. Book early as poss for best prices. Train to Sjpdp is a set price, but you could get your ticket early to save...

Bayonne - St. Jean Pied de Port

Don't worry, there are as many buses as there would be trains, leaving at the same time. There is often a replacement bus. There was last April, plenty of luggage space and seats. And another when i went in the opposite direction in September.

Train Bayonne to St Jean Pied de Port

Don't book. No need. You can buy from a counter at the station if you want. Or from an easy to use machine at the station. Don't assume it will be a train. Bus replacements are common. If it is a bus replacement, walk out of the station, look left, the bus will leave from there. Twice the...

Best way to travel from Santiago de Compostela to London

Ask away, people have many things going through their minds when they plan to walk, and it can seem a bit overwhelming. You will find there's often one person that will tell you to look the answer up yourself, but don't let that put you off asking. Most people are only too glad to help...

    Bayonne Accomodation

Hi, I'm going to be in Bayonne on Sunday after walking the Le Puy route to SJPdP. I remember people on this forum talking about a place to stay over the road from Bayonne train station. I think it may have been a café but I'm not sure. Can anyone help? Also, is there a bus that runs from...

    Arrival Details (With Much Excitement!)

Trains on the 15th, Bayonne to St Jean. 7:45, 11:10, 14:55, 18:06. Takes about an hour. Costs around €10. Short walk into the centre from St Jean train station. I'd recommend getting to the station at least 30 mins before departure if you don't have a ticket. There are often long queues. There...
