    Excellent suggestion 😁

    Norte halfway point

417k in ribadesella tonight so I've decided that my half way point is going to be mid walk tomorrow, which is a 38k ribadesella-Villaviciosa. We'll see in a few weeks upon touching the Santiago cathedral if I was on the spot or not 😊

    Norte halfway point

Hey guys! I'm sure it's been adressed before but can't find anything on the subject. I know that on the norte, there's no official halfway point marker like in Sahagún on the francés, but anybody knows what is considered as the known halfway point? I'm in Llanes now nearing 400 km and I feel...

    Zarautz or Getaria?

Thank you all for your precious suggestions. With availability, I had to go with one night in san sebastian, then Blai Blai in Zarautz and then the Izarbide albergue in Ibir Auza. I will also try to go through de Flysch route. You guys think it's doable?

    Zarautz or Getaria?

I start in Irun. Booked already Irun and San Sebastian and depending on the availabilty of Izarbide, I might do an extra night in SS then on to Getaria (or Zarautz, not sure) before Izarbide. Deba is booked. Markina looked pretty booked as well but I don't want either to prebook too many days in...

    Zarautz or Getaria?

Thank you so much for this wonderful advice! I was actually planning on booking at the Izarbide because Deba is so expensive now!

    Zarautz or Getaria?

I was lloking at accomodations in Zarautz and Getaria and was may thinking of stopping at Getaria a little further instead and also going through Deba the following day and find a local albergue afterwards since Deba is booked out and or too expensive. Is Getaria a good choice over Zarautz?

    Expensive Accommodations!

Really great news as I'm planning to start from Irun around sept 1st, but whenever I look on Booking.com, the prices are more like 70 Euros. I'm not sure it's giving the best deals or it's browsing for dormitories. What site are you guys booking through when you plan ahead?

    Crossing from France

Beautiful text Dave! But looks a bit of a chellenge for day 1 to me! I think I'll start from St-Jean-De-Luz and take the coastal route that leads to Honfdarria/Hendaye and cross to Irun from there instead... I'll spare my legs for the 1000km ahead to Santiago and Muxia ;)

    Crossing from France

I'm actually now thinking of getting off at CDG, get in town, hop on a train to St-Jean-De-Luz and start the next day with a quick walk into Irun for the first one. Might be quicker this way?

    Crossing from France

To my understanding, the only requirement is to have your QR code from the spanish government website plus proof of double vaccination. No testing required or any other card since we're not from EU.

    Crossing from France

Hi guys! I'm set on walking the Norte starting Sept 1st but I have to land in Paris first. What do you think would be my best option for a good start? I was thinking of flying to Biarritz and then get to St-Jean-De-Luz by train and from there, try to find some way to cross to Irun but I'm not...

    Norte sept-oct 2021?

Hi guys! I'm looking to go back on the Camino this autumn, having walked already the Frances in 2019. I'd like to vary thing a bit and try a new way, so I was thinking about the Norte. I have all of September and October, but I was wondering if it's doable, considering Covid restrictions and...
