It's a good time of year, done it in 2020 doing it again now. Everything is pretty much open. The weather cool and changeable, we have come up from Almeria on the Mozarabe this trip and had a heat wave and rain 2020 we had snow too. Bring clothes to cope with the wet and cold and hot sun...
Taxis and buses will be available on most sections that are longer.
We walked our VdlP in early 2020. There really are very few areas where there is no alternate transport. Staying in one place a couple of days and asking for a pick up from the owner will also be possible in some accommodation.
It's not all on hard shoulder, but yes you are quite correct. I did it last week and the diversions before Lubian is actually very nice. I'd also miss out the bit out of Zamora too as it's pretty boring.
We have just come off the VdlP. It's been a very dry spring so far and the only time any fonts were running was after this weeks rain and snow in Galicia. We carried the days water from each albergue.
We are arriving on the 16th in Seville. You'll be miles infront by the time we get going as we are spending a few nights exploring Seville before heading off. The weather looks O.K at least for the first part, though. Buen Camino.
We are starting out on the VdlP in January. We are all different. Especially as we age differently, it is hard to say what one can do from another. When planning the VdlP we used godesalco and gronze. Its generally do able in less than 20km a day except there are one or two 30km days. where...
If you are using Booking.com than they don't show all the rooms available only those given to booking.com. accommodation doesn't put all their rooms on at one time. people shouldn't be too worried. Try a phone call instead.

We are arriving in Seville on the 16th January and making our slow way up the Via de la Plata. Not planning too much, as we like the adventure. Reading around open and closed albergues it seems pretty hit and miss anyway. Though our experience of Camino and Spain is that some thing always...
we camped about half the time along the El Norte and possibly had better nights sleep than with 40 other snoring pilgrims. We used auberges too for the other half the time. it was good and we enjoyed both. we met plenty of others doing the same.
WE are planning the VdlP but intend to use...
Wow! The Camino provides!!! I've just started planning the Via de la Plata for next year and was wondering how I was going to walk 38 kilometers on my arthritic knees. Thats the best news.
