1: I am not sure. As I said, I had not heard the name Zamorano Portugues, and I have walked this camino. But I am not sure if that is important.
2: Sub- forum under Via de la Plata! This camino starts and ends in Spain, with Via de la Plata/Sanabres before and after. Zamora also is the place...
When we walked this camino, I tried to find the right name, and ended up with Via de la Plata Portugues. I found this name many places on Internet, but also along the route. Camino Zamorano Portugues is a new name for me. Is this the official name? For how long? Why then Via de la Plata...
We walked Camino Sur, Huelva - Zafra, early spring this year. The marking differ a bit, but most of the way the camino is very well marked. The first part is quite flat, the second part is more hilly. Nice roads and lovely landscapes most of the way. For more information from me, see...
Three times we have been walking this part of Via de la Plata, passing without visiting Santa Lucia. But this March, the fourth time, we did the detour! I found the GPS track at Wicilok, and had no problems finding our way.
Go there! It was a great experience. It was like visiting San Pedro de...
Some information from our walk on Camino Sur, Huelva – Zafra, two months ago. We had a nice walk, with nice weather. That means a lot to the impression.
The camino is quite flat in the beginning, and more hilly later on. There are a few stretches of asphalt that are not so nice, but there are...
Here comes my photovideo from our camino last spring. We did the last part of Camino de Levante to Zamora, and continued on Via de la Plata Portugues. Starting in Zamora, walking through northern Portugal to Braganca, and then back into Spain to Verin.
I have given some information on this forum...
We walked this camino in April. Here comes some information (at last). We came from Levante and continued on this camino, 9 days from Zamora to Verin, from April 14th to 23rd.
We found this a very nice but strenuous camino. One of the best when it comes to the road itself; gravel roads, dirt...
We will walk this camino now in April. I have found the information I need on the addresses which KinkyOne post here. If you want to see a video from the camino, I found this one good:
This Bruno also has a blog:

If you scroll down to CAMINO PORTUGUES DE LA VIA...
We had some wet days last autumn, yes. But we had a nice walk. We've been a lot more unlucky on several other Camino walks in Spain. But it's good not to get too much rain, and now it's probably one of the best periods of the year, so: Buen Camino!
Autumn is here and I see on the forum that somebody have plans for Via de la Plata. Good. Having walked this camino twice in the spring, we experienced it up to Baños de Montemayor in the fall in 2015 and 2016. Now I have made two photo videos from these hikes in October.
As I say in the...
Thank you for all your information on the forum, Laurie! I asked my self the same question, since someone said here that it might be closed. I saw that they are open from March to Octobre, and hoped that the saying of "closed" was because someone had been there before the first of March.

Places to stay for a day: On my walk this spring (walking from Cadiz), I have planned to have resting days in Sevilla, Merida, Salamanca and Ourense. These are towns worth seeing. Other nice places are Zafra, Caceres, Zamora, Puebla de Sanabria.
The "cool Camino planner online" can be...
Transportation to Cadiz depends on: From where? I will start there soon, and I am going by bus or train from Malaga. If there is a bus (I am not quite sure) it goes to Cadiz. Takes 4-5 hours. If I take the train, it goes to Sevilla. From Sevilla to Cadiz there are frequent bus conection. Takes...
This is what is now said on Eroski Consumer:
Fuente de Cantos: "Disponibilidad del albergue: En 2012 está abierto desde mediados de febrero hasta el 15 de diciembre"
Puebla de Sancho Perez: "Disponibilidad del albergue: En 2012 está abierto desde mediados de febrero hasta el 15 de diciembre"...
What about credentials along the way on Via de la Plata? I will start in Cadiz this time and bring a credential with me from Norway. It takes 24 stamps. Walking to Finisterre, I will need more credentials along the way. I will stay ay Hotel Simon in Sevilla, and wonder if I shoud ask for a...
Thank you for the updating, Peregrina. I had "your" number to Milenium, but then I found the other number somewhere, and since I had heard that there was a new number, I changed... to the old one... :( There are so many different sides with different information. It is confusing. I will be in...
Since my plan was to stay in the albergues in these towns, I have not done much research, but this is what I know by now:
Fuente de Cantos. Hostal Extremadura (924500608) Calle Real 39, and Hostal Casa Vicenta (924500825 and 924500 227) Calle Real 33 are near each other in the same street. Casa...
Although this is an English speaking forum, I recommend a German guide. Since you are Norwegian too, may bee you understand some German: Outdoor. Conrad Stein Verlag. Via de la Plata Mozarabischer Jacobsweg. This Verlag has good guides. I will use this one this spring.
Alle gode ønsker for...
I do not understand this. Is it the Tarjeta Dorado we must buy in person at a railway station? I bought tickets this Autumn going by AVE from Madrid to Cordoba. I bought them on Internett from Norway and nobody had seen me or my credit card at any station. :( Bjorg
