I actually used an SD card adapter that plugged into my phone while I was on the Camino but have since switched to something like what you linked and that works even better.
I did all my recording on an iPhone rather than a camera, but I had a 128gb memory card that I transferred everything onto and that was more than enough.
I am confident I could not have completed my Camino without poles. I needed the extra help going up hills and the support going down hills. I also liked that they kept my hands up so they didn’t swell. I walked nearly every step with them.
I will add that finding the heavier absorbency sizes might be tougher to find. So if you need those I would bring some from home. I needed to buy some tampons along the way and the grocery store I went to only had one or two of the lighter sizes available. I remember thinking if I had needed...
This is an issue I have been changing my mind about back and forth just about every day.
I have a 45L pack and am flying from the US. It for sure meets the requirements to carry on to my Delta flight from the US to Amsterdam. But for the KLM flight from Amsterdam to Madrid, I think might be...
Is there any negative aspect to having a large capacity bag that isn’t filled with very much? I found a 45L bag that feels more comfortable than any other bag I tried. I won’t be carrying anywhere near that much but is that a bad thing in any way?
This has been a really interesting discussion and am I now thinking about a staff rather than poles for my first Camino. I am planning to buy whatever I will use in Pamplona so it might just come down to what feels right when I get there.
I typically wear a womens size 12 wide, and for my upcoming Camino I have been training with a Topo Mtn Racer 2 in a mens 12. It has a wide toe box which is crucial for me. So far it has worked well. I think they might come in a woman’s 12 but that is too small for me in this shoe.
I keep my travel blogs on Travellerspoint. It does everything I want it to do, which is pretty basic. You can upload unlimited photos so it has become my photo repository as well. I am thinking of making videos during my Camino and posting to YouTube instead of a written blog but I am not...
I am just over a year out from my first Camino Frances. I recently bought a pair of hiking shoes that I like so far. However, they are not cheap and I would prefer not to have to buy another pair between now and next year. My thought was to break them in this year just enough to make sure...
I wouldn’t do this regardless, so that isn’t a factor me. I know myself well enough to know that I would spend the whole time walking worrying about where I would sleep. And I like advance planning. The trick for me is going to be not doing too much planning and resisting the urge to book the...
i have a history of back issues so when I do my first Camino next year I will be shipping my main bag ahead each day. Carrying it is not a risk I am willing to take. Given that, I am trying to determine what kind of bag would be best to carry while walking and what items are essential to have...
