I’m on day 10 and just walked into Burgos. Albergues outside of stages at mostly half full. Only special ones might be completo. Mornings are freezing cold very often. At 11 I take off my layers, and consequently get sunburned after. It’s...

...I am on day eight of walking the Francés at the moment. It is quite busy. A lot of talk about beds (and the need to book ahead). I don't book. Today I tried really hard not to get a bed. I really tried. Got up late. Took my time to pack...

@GEDGER , welcome, your first post has brought a fair number of replies! You are from UK, as am I, originally. I am from Scotland, to be precise. Please hang around. You will find that the quality and quantity of meals in Portugal from Porto...

Sorry that you had such a “traumatic” experience…. but even more sorry that for a few Euros/ dollars you were so concerned about being ripped off for breakfast that your energy was directed away from the beautiful coastal camino you are walking...

I used Express Bourricott (not sure I got the spelling correct). It’s a car service. They’re friendly and easy to use. They pair you up with other peregrinos coming in and as they do the price of the ride decreases. I had to wait at the airport...

But definitely for a lot more than €4! You can pre-order an Altus from the store in St Jean. https://www.boutique-du-pelerin.com/en/

Thanks Susan for the info. I tried to buy it through the Forum Store, but check-out told me that “Shipping” would take 2-3 weeks and I’ll be on the Camino before it gets to me; also said the only place to pick up in person was Santiago de...

Not sure when you’re going, but Ivar has the Altus on sale in the forum shop. It’s not really a poncho but a long rain coat with a hump that replaces jacket and pack cover. You can also get one in SJPdP at Boutique du Perelin. If you reserve it...

I'm not sure you will find things in general cheaper in st. Jean. In parts of Spain, maybe. Since you've already bought a poncho, if you're happy with it, stick with what you've got.

Sorry, I was only referring to @Antnix1, regarding a rather snarky comment on my simple inquiry. I should’ve “quoted” him individually; thought I did.
